What's the one thing you've always wanted to see sold at daz but never have?

if someone could bridge Nvidia Gameworks it would be truly awesome.

I've thought about it, but most of the functionality is DirectX only, if I remember correctly.

I apologize for my ignorance, how would that hinder things?

DirectX is Windows Only, and I'm not aware of any plans for that to change anytime soon.

Hair which can be used for different styles, from short,  wet, to growing longer, to ponytail- all essentially the same hair, but with morphs for everyday.

I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why a smart vendor doesn't capitalize on making one hair with multple bangs to choose from, multiple style for temple, scalp and back with classifications for different style for roughly the same length hair (for character continuity) and sell it. It would be more expensive of course but so worth it!

Not as big of a scope as wanted, but multiple bangs, buns and tail options

    https://www.daz3d.com/topmodel-updo-hair-and-oot-hairblending-2-0-for-genesis-3-female-s

I tend to think that vendors that rely on income, will be more cautious about what they produce. Many products can be hit or miss, not because of features, but other smaller things like the way something looks, sits, fits, etc. In the above addon, I don't care for half of the options, so I almost passed on it even though alot of work went into it and it's multiple options

In addition to proper physics simulation (cloth, hair, dynamics, soft-body, fluids) how about implementing actual Iray motion blur?

Clearly I'm way out of the mainstream, but I'd like to see LESS of the following, and more real world stuff:

    • Monsters
    • Dragons
    • Fairies
    • Sorcery
    • Zombies
    • Aliens
    • Centaurs
    • Middle Ages knights and sword fighters with axes and stuff. Oh, and Princess Leia outfits for the women.

Seems like every time you check the store it's just more of the above. Lots of people with swords for some reason. smiley

It took me a long time to find just a simple house, and what I found was only a few that didn't match what I needed. So I made my own.

My apologies, I know they're very popular for some reason, I guess I'm living in another universe. smiley

I live there too.  I call it reality. indecision

Yeah, no kidding. And IMO reality is tough enough. I've never understood the fascination with evil and monsters and fighting and shoot-em-up, blood gushing video games. I mean, when i dream of fun fantasy stuff those things NEVER enter my mind.

In researching a new video card I stumbled on a guy doing benchmarks on his GPU, playing a shoot-em-up game where he was a sniper shooting at people and killing them for no reason and slitting throats. I just don't get it.

And people criticize too much sexy clothing in the store? surprise

and reality is boring and predictable, LOL. One of the reasons I love sandbox open world type games is exploring a virtual world where anything is possible, unlike the real world.

I work in retail managment and see tons of everyday people in everyday clothes...every day. The last thing I want is to render them, LOL

Program to move G2 body morphs to G3. I know there's that GenX, but to make it work, I'd have to buy tons of plugins and stuff that I have zero need, so I was always hoping that one day somebody would make a simple program to trasfer morphs just between G2 and G3. Now that G8 is out, I suppose I'm out of luck. Also not so much as never, since there's been some products, but I really could use more every day poses sets. Like wearing/removing clothes, doing house chores and stuff like that. Most of the pose sets are more like pin up poses, or characters just stand/lie/whatever there flailing their hands in the air, and I just don't get it what they are supposed to be doing.

Um... GenX *IS* " a simple program to transfer morphs" requiruing you only have to buy one plugin to get morphs from G2M to G3M and another from G2F to G3F. I invested and couldn't be happier. It is easy to use, and now I have tripled the number of morphs I have available.

I keep hoping to see Dynamics Cloth (that users can make - I may break down and get VWD, then of course DAZ would release a new GPU accelerated integrated plugin the next day). Dynamic hair, and full physics (including fluids, smoke, and fire, collisions, etc.).

    o!

And as soon as it released the the forums will be flooded with the inevitable question from the still render majority: DOES THIS WORK FOR STILLS???????

yeah, but what many of them don't realize is that dynamics and animation are key to a really great still render, LOL.

    Very true!

It would be so nice to apply a wind force the blow both hair and cloths. Maybe some day. Unfortunately I worry that these types of features may be seen as too difficult for the average user to learn, and not worth developing because it would make DS too "complex" (like Carrara).

Agreed, but it's getting old catering to average or less than users becaue they don't want to put in the work. At what point do we put the brakes on for everything being plug and play. I would hate it if features were not considered for DS because DAZ felt it was a bit too complicated for the plug and play crowd. Every app has it's learning curve.

But the benefit of DAZ is it can cater to both, speaking as a "less than" user, of course. :P

There is only one GenX plugin for Genesis 3, there is not a separate one for males and females.

I'd rather have a series of hair styles that look like they belong together than one hair prop that tries to do it all. Like a hair prop with the same hairline and length throughtout the series, but done in different styles. I definitely need one for a character. I need an updo when she works in an office, a ponytail for when she is out on the field, and a non styled hair for when she is at home. Its hard to make the different hair props match using several hair props at the same time, and matching shaders, wasting precious computer resources on a scene with 3 hairs on top of one head.

I'd like to see a short hair series, shoulder length, and long, with style morphs to make them curly and the all important wind morphs. I'll pay extra for expansions to make fly morphs, upside down morphs and laying down morphs. I need action hair series for the active women in my stories.

I know they never will but I echo this sentiment. I adore hexagon, I find it vastly easier to use than any other software out there -but it needs some bug fixes and some streamlining and if it got it, I think it would blow away the competition. it's logical ease of use is second to NONE.

    I don't expect it but:

    Males with attached gens

Not going to happen; the other Utah based 3D content site's male base figure doesn't have them at all when you get him. Mot saying it can't be done, just won't be either of theses stores that do it.

Well, there's also a practical reason. It's not actually flesh and isn't going to crush down under clothes. it'll just POP out of the pants! Better to have it attachable when you want it.

Naw, that's not true. All the vertices could be there, but since vertices aren't physical objects, they can squash down to nothing. DAZ could provide characters with gens as part of the original mesh, but all the vertices packed so as to tuck everything up inside the body. Then the pro bundles would come with the morphs needed to shape nudity.

And yet I hate the UI; each to their own, and why having multiple choices is always good. The bridge didn't make up for the other irritations I had with it (and no it never crashed for me as I recall).

I own it but have never managed to be able to make anything with it, which isn't the case with zBrush.

Hexagon was always buggy for me and crashed a lot. Then I got ZBrush ... nuff said. :)

  • I'll put in my vote for Hexagon. It's very good, it has a clear menu and it's almost exclusively my modelling software. But it's a pity that smoothing stuff out or having too many poly's will render an error message because it's still 32 bit. I have 24GB of RAM, damn it! Let me use it!

I like the shades of blue they use in hexagon 2.5. If they do do a hexagon 3 I hope they keep those shades of blue.
