Tinkering with Mylochka's new outfit. I just couldn't bring myself to put Picard in the skirt.

The pips are simple sphere's I made in DAZ. the current pips on the freebie list and at sharecg don't turn and place well.

Okay, I consider the work area to be done. The ceiling lights and the desk terminal nay not be completely according to canon, But they'll work for Nova Trek. If someone else can come up with a better answer to lighting this place later on, more power to them.

For lighting I've noticed the strategically placed "wall cones/spheres" every now and then. Hoping to make a few one of these days but the concept is basically 1/2 a sphere or cone on the wall.

    ................

M4's Klingon armour is coming along. For anybody working in Hexagon, if it starts crashing the second one touches the 'face' button or anything to do with selecting faces ... seems to indicate that there are unwelded lines which must first be welded. Hexagon also likes unwelding lines.
Anyhow, the tunic vest part is mostly done.
Bluto, underneath where the belts lie, are these pointed areas, do you mind if I zilch those? I think I can get a little more detail into the sides for the leather strips if you want ... but not with those pointed areas.

Does anyone know of any "below decks" sets out there? Cramped, windowless, with bunk-beds and not much privacy... I didn't see anything like this listed on page 1. Right now, I'm looking for TOS-era, but I'm interested in other eras as well. (I recall such a set on an episode of Voyager...)

If there's nothing ready-made, what would people suggest as building blocks? (Especially those bunk-beds?)

If you want to use pre-made units and make them into something 'Trek-like, there S.F.C.S. Construction package here at Daz. Right now it's only $9.95 :

    http://www.daz3d.com/s-f-c-s-sci-fi-construction-set

RDNA Also has P.I.C.K. Creator SciFi Edition. This lets you build interiors, corridors, you name it. IT's a little more expensive- $14.96:

    http://www.runtimedna.com/P.I.C.K.-Creator-SciFi-Edition.html

You can also download Ptrope's revised crew cabin and re-work it.

You could also take Ptropes conference room (recolor it) and make it a bunk room with stacked beds and lockers with a viewing/lounge section at the front of the room.

I lived this sort of lay out for 20 years in the US Navy. What's to say a working layout for the last 200 years (wooden ships have similar layouts but slightly less evolved.) wouldn't be used on the junior personnel years from now as well?

Actually- I think it was in Undiscovered Country- they showed the lower ranks - male and female- sharing stacked bunk bed quarters. It was just a glimpse as I think it was Execelsior was going to Red Alert. ...

Went and checked at Trekcore. The scene starts here:
    http://movies.trekcore.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=95&page=1

It starts with the 18th screencap on the page.
But the way they filmed it- close-ups and a darkened cabin, you can't see how the cabin's set up.

I didn't see it as the start of a program war; if you post what sort of problems you guys are running into, another Poser Pro user may be able to help. The only wrong "help" would be "use DAZ", and as long as everyone can refrain from that, someone may have real solutions. As well, people are building new things all the time and knowing about possible problems may help them as well.

Okay. But remember, you asked for it.

I bought 2014 a month ago when it first came out. From the moment I installed it, I've had problems. First I couldn't get the Python scripts to run. Got that straightened out, But, it still crashes- locks up- sometimes before I can open a scene file or import anything- and I have to reboot my comp to shut it down. Sometimes it waits till I import an obj- and then locks up- doesn't matter if it's a new one from outside the program or a primative. The techs have been going round and round with me on this- it's always another test or another file- They refuse to arrange a new download of a clean copy for me- my download expired while i was fooling around with them.

Now, I can't throw the program out- it would mean throwing out a month's worth of work I've managed to get done in and around the problems. Right now, I'm having to import and build in Poser 9- which thankfully, I still had on my system- save to the runtime- which both Posers are sharing- and then bring the prop into 2014- and hope it still won't crash.
I've had techs go over my system and they say it exceeds the program rquirements- the comp is fine. It has to be the program.

Personally, I think it got messed up when it was downloaded. It wasn't a nice neat, zipped file download. It just had to go through their Download Manager.

I had to install a memory test to find out that some of my problems were a result of wonky memory: it passed the Power On Self-Test, but not the real world demands. I don't know how thoroughly your techs checked your machine, so I don't know if you should look into that.

If it's not the machine, then it's time to contact Mr. Cooper and see if you can arrange that clean download. I had it crash the other day, but no idea what I did to kill it.

Actually, it might be worth posting your problem to the link Thalek gave right away; there may be something else Mr. Cooper can suggest in the meantime, or at least get your download reactivated a little quicker to scratch "bad download" off your troubleshooting list. At any rate, it wouldn't hurt to have him aware of your problems sooner rather than later.

Latest update. The cabin entrance. 3 sections from my corridor kit outside the door. The entrance itself is made up of 3 pieces: two sections of wall and the piece across the top.
Yes, the deck plan does call for a food replicator to be recessed in that wall.
