The decorative gel sort of spread in the fridge. Supposed to be '&'.

And I tend to respond to my nickname faster than to my real name, considering that my real name was for a decade or so a fad, which meant that everyone and their dog was named that...

    Yes! Yes they do! *burrrrp*

nice cake. That reminds me, I need to finish my drawings of My Little Pony from the 1980s and 1990s.

edit: Daz seems to be faster now. Maybe I can do my online shopping today. I couldn't use the store yesterday.

We went shamelessly with the pony theme.

Reasoning: We never had this stuff (tablecloth, plates, napkins etc) when we were kids. Now that we are adults, and have the money, we're taking back that lost opportunity, since we can. ;)

non-complaint: I can make objects with multiple material zones! (Instead of multiple parts non-wielded to make one object) :cheese:

...from someone who messes around a lot with tetures and shaders lately, I like that. Nothing is more frustrating than having several different parts of a prop or structure all being part of the same MAT zone.

Alright, 4 or so years since my diploma and I'm only learning this now (Or re-learning it, in case, I was taught it and somehow forgot I was taught it) Still, Its new to me and something I should have known for long time, and it makes me happy that I know it now lol

'gratz (^_^)d... in Blender, material assignments come through the OBJ export process as expected, so it's just a matter of assigning subsets of faces to particular materials before export, and hey presto a new "surface" in DS ^_^. Of course, DS4 now has the "Polygon Group Editor" tool, and through there you can create new "surfaces"...
...so can that be used to make new MAT zones?

Yup! (^_^)d. Try it - select the "Polygon Group Editor" tool - when you left-click and drag on an object, you'll leave a trail of stippled "selected" faces (hold down Ctrl and you can drag select others... hold down Alt and you can remove faces from the selection, also a whole bunch of Select options under right-click -> Polygon Selection...), then right-click, Polygon Assignment -> Create Surface from Selected... and give it a name... then you'll find that name (surface) added to the Surfaces list for the object, and you can assign new surface parameters, new surface shader, etc etc (^_^).

Real quick screenshot added, based on a subdivided cube (but it's a whole lot more powerful when used on a more complex object such as clothing, or a scenery prop).

    ...thank you for the information

Oh man, this just makes re-texturing imported .objs so much simpler.

Maybe this will help. One of my favorite songs from the 60's.
