...Tuesday Complaint: (under deadline pressure): PAs who give content cryptic and/or unrelated names.

For the last hour I have been searching my runtimes to find where bleedn' heck HeroFX Extreme installed to. Didn't have it installed so I just used the DIM and it should have installed to the correct place.

I remember it was something really really odd as it isn't under the creator's name (Netherworks) nor under Hero FX or in the Special Effects folder. Of course the Product Wiki is useless since the entry is incomplete and they deleted all the old readmes. The entry in the old Artzone Wiki only gives basic details about what it does, not where it installs to and how it is listed. I shut 4.6 down after installing and opened it up again but there was no metadata confirmation so I cannot even use Smart Content to find it. >:( >:-(

more delivery woes. i ordered full spectrum light bulbs from amazon.

they sent the wrong ones. they sent the replacement u.s. postal service priority, (supposedly the correct bulbs) and arranged for UPS to pick up the return.

all good? you'd think so but no. i came home to find a peeled label. the UPS guy took the package the post office delivered. :-/

meanwhile the package of my bubby's treats are still missing.

oh well. more Dr Who t'nite. 2 episodes in and no daleks yet.

I don't have that, but have you checked in Content Library (tab)/Products/H/Hero FX?

Or open the ZIP file (assuming you save the ZIPs after installing) and take a look at the directory path (or even the filenames) contained therein, and Search for them in your Runtime. There's also a right-click option in DIM to show the paths to the files that got installed (sorry, I don't have DIM in front of me so I can't tell you exactly where it is...).

...eventually found it. Took note of the name and definitely will rename it and put it in my Special Effects folder when I'm finished.

Fortunately I remember I still haven't cleared everything off the notebook and did a full search of my C: drive using the product name which pulled up the original readme file. Gonna have to save those somehow when I take everything else off.

Mine shows up in the Content Library Tab under:

    Poser Formats->My Daz 3D Library->Pose->MAT-HeroFXx-1 MAT-HeroFXx-2

I found it by doing a search for "Hero" in the Content Library tab

ETA: You could also just go to Products->H->Hero FX Extreme on the content library tab.

...it wasn't just the MAT files, I couldn't find the main control that needs to be loaded first. Ended up listed in the Content/Runtime/Figures folder as "NWSHeroFX"

...what's wrong with just calling a spade a spade?

Also as I mentioned, never got the Metadata verification screen (I have that set to show up every time I open the programme after installing) so I don't think there's even a metadata file for it.

Just about ran out of Complaint time for today.

    Complaints:
Went banking and shopping with my brother, he can't drive and I can, got walked into EVERY department in a Wally World (Walmart) except the Hair Salon and the Pharmacy. For a grand total of $25 spent in two hours.
Had a man here, friend wanting extra money, to trim up my yard with my EXPENSIVE not a weedeater Weed cutter, It never hit a lick that even sounded like it was going to crank in a half hour. It was just used 3 weeks ago and cranked on demand all day.
Bought myself a Frozen bag of BLAZING WINGS for dinner, it took ALL but 2 wings to make enough to feed me and my roommate. Sure they are big pieces of bird but the bag says family size on it, not small family size. We cooked it all, why bother with 2 later?
Pure Vapor nicotine devices (BLU) should warn your happy butt that pure nicotine hits you like a ton of bricks in comparison to a cig.

    None Complaints:
Had BLAZING WINGS, Texas Toast, homemade coleslaw and fresh from the garden tomato and cucumber slices for Din Din.
I now have a BLU electronic cigarette, hoping it will help me cut down on the real ones. Thinking it surely will.
Have a reason to go to Lowes tomorrow, wonder what I need besides a new spark plug for that none cranking thing, or the house?

Welcome to my BLU world, Jade. Has definitely helped me. One pack of 5 refills lasts me over a month.

I'm not sure how the whole metadata thing works so no help there.

I will say that if I go to Content Library tab then select Products and the letter H it shows under Hero FX Xtreme. Selecting that gets you the mats, the object and all of the trans files listed down below.

Umm... Products>H>Heros FX Xtreme. Sort of easy to find things that way.

EDIT: Only pulls DAZ Studio versions. Hmm... but it is full DS version. Some stuff not. Pftt...

Oh those kids can keep their poor tastes in music. As long as I've got Nightwish they can do whatever they want :D

Stargazers, Wishmaster, 7 Days to the Wolves, Nemo, Sleeping Sun... That's the sorta music I wanna be listening to ^^

I knew when they announced it that not putting the ReadMe files in the zips was a bad idea. Since they insisted on removing them they should be absolutely certain that it is available online before they sell the product.

But, isn't it a zip file? You can open it with an archiver and see what the folder structure is and where the files are.

...now it is. What I needed at the time was the exact name it appears under in the runtime so I could find it. The old Readme mentions that nice and clearly. Backing up the entire library of old readmes from my notebook for reference.

I don't use Smart content much at all because it seems to be missing a lot of stuff since I manually installed most of my content before I got decent connectivity to do straight downloads and actually make the DIM work.

I probably now have two copies of it floating around the runtime structure since I DL'd it again with the DIM (and there was no message about uninstalling the previous version).

There are a lot of people still out of work. And 92% of the new jobs added in the last 2 years are service industry. Sure, jobs have been added, but quality of life has not returned. The rich get richer, the rest of us...meh.
