Bah! Unable to get my DragonCon badge tonight. The line was wrapped all the way around the outside of the hotel - which covers an entire block of downtown - and through the 1st floor. This was the line for those of us that had pre-registered and already paid. They ended up capping the line since they didn't want it crossing one of the downtown streets.
Will have to try and get there early tomorrow since I have sessions I wanted to attend that start at 11:30.
5 am. Oh gods why am I awake at 5 am.
Oh right. Off to see mom and take her to an early hospital checkout, the one that needs next-of-kin to be present 'cause eff yes she's really that off the deep end.

...ahh bugger, they started the PA sale two month's early when I'm pretty much flat broke and Carrara 8.5 is out, and Corel will probably have a blowout on PSPX5 as PSPX6 is in pre release.

...all major sales are BOGO-ised, I know, it's become a fact of life here since the change. However, I have a number of things from various PAs (more than three by the same PA in several cases) on my wishlist, so it is still a better deal than paying full price especially struggling on such a super tight budget as I am.
Hence, I need to take advantage of any way possible to save on purchases.
I feel a bit offended by that remark.
Well, I bet if 95% of DAZ's customers stopped supporting BOGO sales even once, it would go away pretty darn quickly and never be seen again. :P
Of course that's never going to happen.

I don't remember who it was around here, but I adopted their policy more or less (unless it's something new I really want, which isn't a whole lot lately). What I've mainly been buying are older products on sale.
I don't touch squat other than PC items unless its 50%+ off (or very close to) without being a BOGO (I don't think Daz has buy-one-get-one-free at all). Has worked for me so far. Now if it's something that's normally only like $8 that's another story.

Nothing has been published that says this is the annual PA sale, and there have been many sales where they had a collection of vendors' items on sale for a limited time, then another group. So maybe this isn't it.

There is no such thing as "buy one get one free".
There is nothing "free" in it.
If there is, just give me the free one, and you can keep the other one.
This is "buy two at half-price" or "buy one, get two".
It's just simple math, simple logic.
My late Dad worked in retail most of his life, and BOGO bugged the heck out of him.
It bugs me because it should be BOGOF, anyway. Buy one get one free, not buy one get one.

They run this sale on DragonCon weekend when I'm going to be gone most of the day for the next 4 days so I'll probably miss any of those artists.
I have a ton of stuff on my wishlist and I always go through and look to see if any of it is on sale. With this format even if the PA in question is on sale the wishlist won't show it because you have to have it in the cart with something else to get the sale price. To me it looks like those items aren't on sale so I won't be buying.
Unless they do like they've done in the past and put everything back on sale at the end of the month the probability that I'll find 3 items on the same day is fairly slim - especially this weekend as I've said - so even less chance that I'll buy.
Off to see some Dragons - or at least some strangely dressed humans - happy Friday all.
