I guess they were listening to the pricing complaints, now a 25% coupon for Celani 8 Pro bundle.
Thanks everyone for your responses to my questions. I have filed a ticket and hopefully it gets resolved soon so that I can take advantage of the bundle prices.
For me, the "A" word is a trigger word (as it scares the heebie jeebies out of me). So I don't buy any content related to that. Thanks for the purple banner though.
Same. Only 2 categories even have items that I have wishlisted. The other categories are all shopped out.
I passed on the bundle. The base figure looks good, but the clothing is somewhat sub par looking. The two hairs are nice, dforce clothing is rather ordinary, and high-waisted 1980's pants. Pass.
Oh no, I read it wrong. only 15 per category with 4 addons. Guess not that good a deal. Daz really need to be more clear. Just put the deal plain and simple instead of such cryptic language. lol!
So, ~$39 after the new 25% off plus 4 add-ons. She's still on the higher end, like Kayo wasn't a huge discount either.
The outfits really work for Fantasy, for the most part, except I try to avoid too much Fantasy (because everyone does that kind of render so it's harder to stand out).
This is one where I'll stare at the cart for a long time before making a decision.
I like that the outfits aren't generic contemporary whatever, but it's just not a theme that I'll use much.
Yay! It's great we've got a discount and that it's open to everyone rather than just us purple-banner-draped mad bundle collectors as now others can become mad bundles collectors and our legion will grow... excellent *evil grin*...
HOWEVER, dang, the discount code has "48-HOURS" in it sooooooooo I'm gonna take that as a major hint its only gonna last 48 hours... although is 48 hours more or less in "Daz hours"?! It could be disappearing as I type or be with us into our old age. It's almost impossible to say!!
What is possible to say, however, is I doubt I can trawl enough fountains in that time period for $63 in pennies... don't get me wrong, I'm a hell of a fountain trawler but 3 months of nationwide lockdown has massively depleted the fountain-penny population. Sigh.
Sorry for the double post, but just an FYI some are reporting in the Sales thread that after Celani 8 Pro Bundle purchase you get a thank you banner from Daz giving you store credit to the amount of 25% of the Celani 8 purchase cost, e.g if bought for $63 that's $15 in store credit. You also seem to get a "stormscapes" background set that isn't currently in the store, lol, but hopefully will be fixed soon.
Just in case that sweetens the pot for anyone.
$52.90 Pro Bundle with four add-ons? Nope. As usual, there's a tax on early adoption of Pro Bundles. New coupon code gets Bundle price w/ 4 add-ons down to $39.68. An improvement, but not a Deal. The $15 per category pickings are threadbare for me.
Celani has personality, and that is one of the two most important criteria I use for Core Figures (the other is radiant, detailed skin). Great head morph, realistic body morph, nice skin (unless it's due to an exaggerated bump map, as it appears to be on Wilona Hair promos), beautiful eyebrows, (though no eyebrow geometry).
I really like the expressions in her character promos. I wish they were included or indexed. The HD morph only succeeds in making her look older---creased nasolabials---not always hardly ever desirable. I want PORES from my HD.
Mada's outfit (AS USUAL) is the standout clothing, and it will be usable in non-dystopian scenes. With seeming dystopia just a shot away, I'm not too interested in recreating that. Not excited about the rest of the clothes---their craftsmanship (boots appropriate for toon characters, to name one). I really appreciate having five options for Core Figure darker black women (Sahira, Alawe, Kala, Tasha, Charlotte, & Edie are options for lighter).
Masozi and Dezzi look interesting, and I'm glad to get CDI poses included in the bundle. I wonder if Holt 8is a black guy, or if Daz is doing BWWM, like so many US TVC's.

While it is nice that Daz realized that this was very expensive from the start, the 25% does not fix the whole thing. On top of requiring a code for what usually is granted by default, with a short time frame it does not let you wait for a general DO discount that would allow for the 10/15 per category to be worth something.
If someone could post Xolile without Celani, and Xolile with Monique instead of Celani? Thank you!

I have mixed feelings about that one (not a fan of 'after the fact stuff that the Daz sales team doesn't tell you about beforehand, or the 'buy stuff now for mystery item discount later' for some pro bundle they haven't announced yet), and I'm also wondering if that applies if you use the '25% off Celani Pro Bundle' coupon. I'll check the other thread.
I highly doubt it. That banner was most certainly for people who bought the Bundle before that coupon was available and so couldn't use it.
I doubt it. I think the credit was just to even out the playing field for those who purchased the bundle before the extra 25% discount was available.
Can verify that I used the coupon and have not seen a banner. Nor was I able to get the StormScape Backdrops so I'm hoping they do something about that for those of us between the coupon release and the actual adding the backdrops to the store
I agree with the overall sentiment here. It's a very nice character but the value proposition is not there for me, even with the 25% discount (thanks for that though!). Aliens vs Troopers and Walk the Plank were much MUCH closer calls that I still passed on, for the same reason. I don't find these bonus $15 offers compelling, personally. Too many categories hold few items of interest. Having to add extra to make them desirable pushes the cart way out of range. Whenever I get a pro bundle, the sweeteners almost always play the largest part in the decision making. I've bought plenty of bundles that only held marginal interest for me because the bonus content justified it. Applying that $105 of bonus content towards older pro bundles or other meatier items etc would have made a purchase much more likely for me in this case.

So they have like 3 items in the bundles that I care about. Those three together cost as much as the starter bundle. But then one of those three items isn't in the starter bundle. Adding the cost of that to the starter bundle, I'm in striking distance of the pro bundle. Then I notice that 25% discount, which I guess was the $15 off people had mentioned. I should just empty the whole cart and see if I still want this later.
25% off but only on the Celani 8 Pro bundle itself. Yeah... almost. Still not a good deal for me. I'd rather take the HD Add-on instead of another unwanted texture addon, but not going to pay $16 for it. Especially as the last ones had disappointing sole details without wrinkles. Every Mousso HD charcter has more HD to offer for a much lower price.
Instead of a small discount on different categories I'd prefer the whole discount to spent on DAZ originals I really want.
I understand that DAZ is a business, like every other and wants to grow every year. More Pro Bundles (Content) in less time is a good way. But less discounts will just cure me from my DAZcoholism. :D
OK, as a followup to my previous post. Has anyone bought this pro bundle with the 25% off coupon in the last few hours, and did you see the 'thank you for buying Celani 8' banner with the $25% store credit after buying the bundle? The assumption is 'won't happen/only for the early buyers' but I'd like confirmation of this.
I'm about to embark on cart building. Not overly thrilled about the expected cart price with 4 addons (the coupon helps) but every little bit will help.

Yeah, with the four add-ons I chose, using the coupon and the four items in the categories that each went 37c over, my total is just under $67. I really like her and the concept, and I can see using quite a bit of this bundle, but geez, that's a lot to put out there right now. I'm not even all that crazy about the category items available because I've already picked them over pretty well. I might have to pass for now and pick her up later.
