How you feeling about the offers? I thought yesterday decent. Products offered new not too much, or today, nothing that grabbed me. The free hd and one product free yesterday plus 20% off was good, other than the 2 free counting ad 2 of the 4. Anyway, what you think?
If you want an HD that can't be seperated into head and body, I suppose it's ok.

Never liked em myself.
the coupon was nice and I used that but I did not care for any of the debuts for a free HD
today's debuts are nicer mainly the ladyLittlefox tops and dresses, I would wear those myself
These big monthly sales for me usually have a couple big, irresistable opening days before settling into an ok, so-so pattern. Then close out the month with another big weekend.
This past weekend had a few interesting sales, and I tried not to kill my store credit to save it for the PA sale. But...this was an underwhelming start. Not saying it was bad, but it was not the fireworks start that has me anxious to see what's coming next.
Half the stuff were leftovers from yesterday, the new products were nice but nothing really grabbed me, and I already own everything from the $0.99 sale I would be interested in except for "Saba'a AlKair", but they only offered the Iray add-on while the original remains $30.
The most interesting thing I grabbed today was https://www.daz3d.com/douglas-cargo-plane, which is ten years old. I was excited for that because I needed it for a scene, and it happened to be on sale.
The one Aeon Soul outfit I want (Everyday 2 for G8M) is the only one that wasn't put on sale and it's no longer "New". The textures that were released alongside it are on sale though. I've taken this as a sign to pause my spending, until there's a better deal. XD
To be honest, I think the PA sales lost much of their excitement (and, indeed, what I thought was their intended purpose,) when DAZ started playing the game of only putting partial artist catalogs up for sale in the Featured Artist Category and cycling through tiny sub-selections of the big "product mill" content providers multiple times a week. At least, I always THOUGHT that the purpose of the PA sale was to focus attention on all of the individual artists, rather than just the ubiquitous fifty or so PAs who go on sale multiple times a month, and to NOT have the lion's portions the sales focus be taken by the super-ultra-discounted DAZ original old stuff deal of the day. The way things have been going lately, however, I think it's safe to say that this "PA Sale" will probably feature at least two new DAZ core figure/bundle launches that will consume most of the promotion, while the only parts of the sale that will really give any attention to most of the PAs will be the handful where they have every PA on sale at once.
I have a comment; new stuff I can't use to get old stuff I already have = no sale. Still hoping to knock off some items from my 300+ wishlist eventually, but not feeling excited at this juncture.
I really don't see how PAs can make much money with the continual slashing of prices. And the prize for participating in the PA sale is that your new product is 50-60% off?

You might want to flag that to the mods' attention in the sale problems thread. According to the readme, it went out of new status on 8/24, so it may be that there was simply an oversight. I don't know how long the specific vendor sale will last, though,

I suppose it depends on what you consider to be "much money". A lot of PAs only do DAZ work as side jobs, which is why the store is so dominated by a handful of vendors crank out content like machines, which is probably what is necessary to actually be a PA as a full time job. That said, one of the things that I've consistently heard from PAs is that, with most products, the vast majority of the sales made are within the first month or two of release. After that, any sales that come in afterward are inconsistent, so anything that gets people to go back through your catalog and buy again is better than nothing. And, as noted above, the "regular" prices for new releases are obviously inflated a bit to compensate for that, so buying a DAZ product at full price is pretty much the equivalent of buying at the full "sugggested retail price" at a regular brick and mortar store... and how often does the average person do that?
Unfortunately for long time members who shop a lot, we already own all of the special enticement deals deals we want. I already have all the HD, DOs I want from yesterday and the 99 cent offers today so just left with 50% off deals which is not that exciting. I find these big sales are often much better for newbies. But I did a pretty big haul in the RDNA sale even though I already owned a lot of that, I picked up a lot of “nice to have for 80 cents” products.
I appreciated the coupon, since it was good for a GC, and 20% off one of those is very welcome. Otherwise, the sale is starting out fairly slowly, although the new releases are mostly worth a good look-over.
By this time, for me, the major monthly sales are mainly a draw for the sake of the new releases. I'm not sure how many PAs have made an effort to have something new for the sale, given the way DAZ is burning through new content releases at such a phenominal rate. But at least a few of them have. And some favorites, like Littlefox don't bring out that many new releases all that often. Particularly not clothing releases. Oskarsson is another whose work I generally find worth checking out when something new shows up in the store.
Most of the freebies are in the "Nice, but do I *need* them?" category by this time. Mainly since they are the same freebies that I've picked over several times before. The back catalogs are worth giving a look over, but still, if I wanted it, I generally picked it up before. I no longer purchase gen4 characters or most of their other content, and the back catalogues are still fairly heavily populated with that, so that's an easy pass.
Seems like the best deals these first two days of the PA sale have been on DAZ Originals. Doesn't feel like a PA sale as a result.
Yeah, with the exception of the PC+ sale, most of the sales are pretty much all clones of each other now. There is a core group of PAs who have Featured Artist sales almost constantly. but it's got to be really tough for newbies and the "boutique" PAs who only put out one or two products a year. I know the problem with PA attrition got so bad at Renderosity that they actually changed the policies of their Clearance section so that it wasn't automatically decimating their back catalog.
I'm just not interested in buying anything. With the new Product Library c*ck-up, I'm disinclined to ever spend any money here ever again. I did give Hivewire $8 for the white tiger texture though.
I would be interested in except for "Saba'a AlKair", but they only offered the Iray add-on while the original remains $30.
Make sure you don't already have that. If you picked up the Grimes bundle a while back it was included - though for some reason it still shows as not being owned.
Lots of those PC+ things on my wishlist, but I don't want any of the very limited selection of new/still new items. There's nothing wrong with them, they're just not relevant to me right now (and sometimes at all). Yesterday there was only one HD add-on that I would have wanted and I'd literally bought it for $5 the day before, which still ended up being cheaper. I used the coupon on older items to knock them below their best yearly prices. More recent stuff topped out at everyday sale prices even with it, not what you want or expect a major annual event to offer but also completely in line with Daz discounts consistently adding up to the same amount.
So far I've been pretty underwhelmed. It's just another sale, with the most significant price breaks once again being on DOs... with a buy-in, naturally. It probably doesn't help that I've got some sale fatigue going on (that RDNA one, man), but I was hoping for something to set it apart. I'll pick up a couple things today, but only because I need them now. Otherwise I'd keep waiting for better.

I didn't get the Grimes bundle, but thanks for the head's up.
I'm feeling mildly astonished I guess, basically because I also, like others, thought 'PA sale' meant that it was mainly about, well, the PAs. But their sales got cut down rather than turned up (why only 40% on featured stores?), and the special prices selections are old DO bits and pieces. I don't know exactly what I was expecting - a daily PA feature maybe, with one artist or a small group of them in focus, special discounts of course, but also like ... small interviews, or bits about their vita, or their work process, something like that ...? You know, nothing editorial, just like a little extra info on the PA as a published ARTIST. Or at least having really ALL the marketing focused on them, not a little on them and a lot on DOs. I mean why keep calling them artists if you'll only treat them like every other vendor all the same ... Ah well. Kind of sad somehow. But maybe things just need a little time to get going and will spice up eventually!

First, there was the original Saba'a AlKair (PA), then Saba'a AlKair Iray addon (PC+), then, later, the Saba'a AlKair Bundle (DO), part of the Grimes bundle. It includes the content from both, with a bonus preset, in a new package, not as a set with the two original packages, so if you get the bundle, the originals will not appear as owned.

Yeah, but it's the same environment that comes with the Saba'a AlKair Bundle, so one has to be careful - since it doesn't show up as owned (even though if you have the Saba'a AlKair Bundle from the Grimes Bundle it's already an environment you own). Simply repackaging it doesn't make it a completely different product/environment. I was just pointing it out, so that some who have the Saba'a AlKair environment already won't accidentally purchase it again. :)
So far I've been really happy. With that 20% coupon yesterday, I was able to snag a PC+ new release, two of the releases from the previous day that were 2.99 with the purchase of any new release, and an outfit that I needed and it all came to like 11 bucks.

well someone WiseDroggo I believe started a thread and the Mods locked it

They closed it because the OP told them to...

I thought it was good but since I didn't want anything that would get the freebies I didn't participate.

Supply/demand. Basic economics.
Sometimes you make far more money with aggressive sales; the trick is finding the sweet spot

So far the pa sale seems rather mundane and routine. If I didn't know it was the Pa sale I'd imagine it was just a regular day at daz store
