I am sure in the past PA/MM sales it was debut new and still new that released the special offer of the day, but not in this one, it is debut new only. Makes the choice very limiting.

"Buy 2 or more of Today’s Debut New Releases to choose 3 Fantastic Daz Originals for just $1.99* each."

There are two new releases that I'm interested in... but that buy-in (starting around $19) is a bit steep for only three items from the list.

And that list is rather limited: Lots of texture packs but not the corresponding outfits. A handful of outfits but not the corresponding texture packs. Locations but not the corresponding pose packs, or vice versa. Plenty of items from great PAs, but the selection from their catalogs seems random.

Another thing is that many of these items seem to be the kind of things that will likely be $1.99 for members during the PC+ sale next month.

TL;DR - PA Festival continues to be lackluster

  • In general, outside of the "Build Your Own Flash Sale", none of these deals are anything I haven't seen a 100 times before on a regular day. The same Daz Originals have been trotted out so many times as a sweetner or a freebie that there's nothing left to pick over. As someone else said "There not many PA's for PA Sales Month"

I'm just waiting for the usual Generic Daz Sale Bingo entries:

    • V4/M4 items for 99 cents
    • Runtime DNA items for $1.99
    • Carerra, Bryce, and other programs we haven't supported in years for 90% off!

    Hoping this gets better :/

Have we started the big annual sale yet? Because I would hate to think this is it.
  • There must be enough people spending money to make daz happy or you would see a spontaneous flash sale coupon pop up to sweeten the deal. For me, it's that there's nothing in the store I need. There's a lot of stuff that would be neat to get, but nothing that can't wait for that infrequent, unicorn, super-deep discount sale. I held off on picking up a few DOs on the sale the weekend before because I wanted to save to see what comes up here, but so far this sale tells me I'll be saving for the PC sale...and I'm now wondering if that one won't be as special as last year's or the summer one.

I'm actually glad it's a bit boring - I know the next few big sales generally clear out my bank account, so I'm happy saving up for those and giving my wallet a break.

Every day of this sale has been 40% off new releases, or buy 2+ to get 50% off instead of 40%, so no, it isn't the same as normal introduction sales. The extra featured artists list is longer too, meaning PAs who aren't often on sale may end up on sale. Same as last year, and the year before...

  • it's the lack of bargains on PA legacy stuff you never see on sale otherwise that disappoints me.

Yes had RDNA one and I grabbed much, pretty much picked through all the DAZ Original V4,M4, A3, H3, V3 & M3 stuff.

    +1.

Except fot a slight extra discount on Debut and Still New releases I haven't seen much difference between  it and any regular sale day at DAZ.

  • I also knew going in that I wouldn't be able to buy anything the first week of the sale so the "lackluster," as someone said, promos so far aren't bothering me. Except I feel bad for the PAs who are probably not making as much due to buyers disliking the deals, on top of Daz 3d's seeming emphasis on DOs over PA items so far.

There are a few things I will buy if/when there's a catch up sale.

There's been one VERY major difference.  None of the deals have lasted more than a single day, instead of staying up for three to four days like they normally do.  So, really, the PA sale has been LESS of a sale than what we get normally.

This PA Sale hasn't had a lot of either PAs or sales.

It's very definitely a PA sale in name only, as the PA catalogs in the daily sales are being limited, the new PA items being highlighted stay as new Debut for just one day and up as Still News for three MINUS their original bonuses, and the only major promotions so far have been DAZ Original-centric.  The Labor Day sale, in particular, was especially lackluster.

Just save your money for a (hopefully) more interesting PC+ sale, probably starting early to mid October, after the PA sale is (oh, look, what a surprise! LOL) extended. The last couple PC+ sales have offered fun $1.99 non-PC+ items that have been a real bargain. I hope to see that again. That was the best sale all year, for me.

  • it might still be a good idea to grab what legacy stuff you can if you want it whether it's discounted or not as older products are disappearing.

My last paid purchase was over 5 months ago?

Yikes, I think the wheels fell off the wagon.

Or was that the cheese off the cracker?

Either way, it was a good ride.  :)

I'm finding it harder and harder to find stuff I like. The stuff in the store lately is getting farther and farther from my interests ;). I'm being nice. LOL

    "Surprise 60% Off Flash Sale"

I wonder if this is the daily PA Festival deal, or if that phrasing means that the sale will last a few hours and then be replaced? I suppose all of the daily deals have been 24-hour flash sales, but that wording still seems a bit odd.

I am just waiting on a deal for the Annual PC+ sub, since I lost that.  I assume I will be out of the mix until the PC+ sale mentioned above.  If I recall, that usually includes a good PC+ sub discount?  When I had that, I would usually bite on a 60% off combined with coupon, since I got about 20 items still in my wishlist, and added 1 to it so far this month.

That's the deal featured in the newsletter, so most probably the daily deal.

It's a strange one, that's for sure. Must be the 1st time in many years there are no new releases.

"No new releases days" happen from time to time during catchup sales or storewide sales. Having one in the middle of the week is rather unusal though.

The platinum club freebie for this week.

If you're a platinum club member, you even get it for free:

They seemed to change to 2.99 partway through iirc.

Well, there are also the regular PC releases out this week too..

Which aren't advertised unless you go to the PC+ section.  Since the Current main page says "FLASH SALE", I have to wonder if it's actually the only promotion that's supposed to be running and the store staff just forgot to put the real one up.
