It appears that for all product Bundles (in the online store), the included products Thumbnail Image descriptions have black text within a black text block, so you can't read the product names, although some text extends past the edge of the product thumbnail. A change of colors and word-wrap should fix it. On Windows 10 it looks like the attached screenshot in Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, and Firefox browsers. It also appears the same way on Macintosh in Safari, Chrome and Firefox browsers. Sample screenshot from Freja 8 Viking Maiden Bundle.

Nothing against the web designer, since I'm a web designer myself. I understand how fixing one code can affect other codes in other places you don't even expect, even after testing before launch. So I understand the frustration of the users here, but also how it can be hard on the web developer. It's good to point out some of the issues so that they may be fixed, since by providing input, that means we care, we just need to be a bit patient.
I had made my own recommendations and even screenshots of some of the things that could be change, but just because they don't it, it doesn't mean I need to be upset about it. There might be things behind the scenes that we don't need to know about, or they might have other plans, but that can hopefully can be resolved to update the site to something that most of us will be happy with (since no matter how the change is going to be, it will never satisfy 100% of the people). Peace! :)
I just tried myself, upgrading from a Windows 7 Ultimate, went fine and it activated automatically using the Win 7 key. I first installed Win 7 on a clean disk using the key on the box, activated it and installed all updates (to avoid any old bugs which might mess up the upgrade).
Then I downloaded and ran the Win 10 upgrade tool, and selected "Upgrade this PC" with the default "Keep personal files and apps" selected. I would have prefered to change it to "Remove all", i.e. let it wipe Win 7 first and then do a clean install, but I read somewhere that it won't activate then, whether that's true I don't know but I didn't want to take the chance. The upgrade itself took only about an hour.
So yes, it's still possible.
Getting used to it, I do find the little icons go unnoticed when I'm browsing...they seem to be an element my eyes stop seeing because they don't provide me useful information. Also, the icon indicating the item is in my wishlist is not so prominant. Browsing on my laptop, the overall design is ok. I also notice pages load a lot faster than they did with the old design, however, the entire site loads slower on my phone - it's a bit of a tradeoff.
Another glitch in the text blocks to go with the black-on-black text. Go into the sale page for today and hover over the text block to view long names. The entire white text block jumps up and to the right.
iOS everything at the top sends you to the blog or gallery
so cannot search by people and things, structures, vendor etc
I can't see the product title on any product page... what is going on with the CSS??
Which browser? which version?
Firefox 81.0.1:
sale and new is much to big/distracting
The new layout is terrable.
@WendyLuvsCatz I put in a ticket for this two weeks ago, but I discovered if I scrolled down the page a bit, then the blue banner would freeze at the top of the page, and then I could choose from the search categories (only sometimes it doesn't freeze and you have to scroll up again to make it catch). I'm using Chrome.
will check that oit but otherwise it stops me impulse buying a bit when not on my PC so not a bad thing
The borderless white has made me r-u-n-n-o-f-t the Shop page. So, I just go to the Sale page and work from the different groups there using Show Wishlist Only. I stick to the Sale page and my Wishlist now, and I'm saving about 30-45 minutes or so a day mucking about with the Daz website, since I only check it when I get a Daz Deals email from Ati.
The way I solved this issue was by zooming the page to 120% or greater. It seems to be an issue where the click area for the links above are overlapping the links below.
Greetings all,
Lot's of comments and ideas already presented. Here's my opinions and suggestions:
In general I like the layout. More information for the shopper.
Overall, no big issues. I think it clean. Loads quickly. Provides information not previously available on this page. (Reduces need to click to the product page.)
As to the amount of white space, a muted tone overall (a parchment coloring) might help make the page easier on the eyes espectially for my evening viewing. (Melatonin and sleep issues from looking at computer screens late night)
Photo Icons: The word 'SALE' is redunant as the -##% gives that info. The 'NEW' is about right size and location for me and useful when I go to use my coupons to find the end of the new stuff. The wishlist icon is a bit tiny but when you mouse over image that expands to 'In Wishlist'; works for me.
Bottom Icons: Thank you. Many times when there are new textures I can't tell which clothing prop it fits nor the figure. Now there's a fighting chance to determine that.
The general category is fine. Usually I can tell if it's clothing or hair. But occassionally there's some doubt on if it's figure modification or clothing by name only. If there will be a filter on that icon (ex filter for vehicles or hair) that would be helpful. The current filters don't provide that functionality
For future consideration:
Consider fly-outs as you see on NetFlix. Show the 'Details' text from the product page. Many descriptions would have to be edited tigher or the word 'more' and crop off what doesn't fit But I would find it useful to at least get a preview of how the artist describes the piece. (BTW, this may mess up the wishlist flyout. IMHO, once us users understand that the heart (or even just a yellow dot), the flyout becomes unnecessary.
Thanks for the work on the page. Again, I like it overall, improves some areas, no real detractors for my use.
One observation - too much whitespace. (Edit: found the explanation for the wasted space here)
Specifically, wasted whitespace at the right and left on a 1920x1080 display with the browser full-screen, as per the first attached screenshot with 4 products per row (edit to add: although other window widths display the same problem)
If I stretch the browser window across dual screens the number of items per row increases, as per the second attached screenshot with 7 products per row. So the logic for increasing the number of items per row for larger screens is there.
To me slightly less whitespace between products in the same row so that five products are displayed per row on a 1920x1080 display would be better.
Browser window width 1920 pixels - four products per row. Lots of wasted whitespace at left and right edges (edited to add: and too much whitespace between products on the same row):
Browser window width around 3000 pixels wide (across two monitors) just to confirm that products per row increases with browser window width:
Another thought - it's not immediately (although a quick comparison between the picture and text usually clears that up) obvious whether the product text is associated with the product above or the product below.
So maybe slightly more separation between rows, a discrete box (the ones I've added to the image below are rather blatent, to demonstrate what I mean) around each product, or something similar ?
P.S. See, I can do sensible - if I try really really hard
I think if it is in a different color than the background it would work. Also, the price should be the last row to make things feel more of a group...
Oh, I really like that!
Though I do think the descriptor text AND the icons is a little redundant. I would think one or the other would suffice or it looks a bit cluttered and a bit too busy (just IMO of course).
Good examples! This is certainly more in line with the majority of requests in this thread.
Less white, better grouping, bigger wishlist icon - all the main bases covered. These changes seem reasonable, but if they are too too hard for the page creators at Daz, I wish they would just say so. Otherwise, it seems like they are ignoring the community.
Add my vote!
I'm liking the new layout, now that's it's working in Opera correctly. The first few days I'd have about 4 items show up on each page and then blank spaces that stretched to the bottom of the page. I had to switch back to Chrome just to view the store.
On the PC+ anniversary sale age the little icons do not expand to text when you hover over them, which is particularly annoying because there are icons that don't make sense, such as hearts for items which are not on my wishlist.
It's not a heart, it's meant to be a "plug" for a Daz Studio Plugin but the two little prongs at the top are so narrow that they pretty much disappear on most screens.
They should go with something more like this, which would be much more legible, I think:
someone thought it was undies![blush blush](https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/embarrassed_smile.png)
I really like this! It's so much more cohesive and legible, and I'm not getting blinded by an overabundance of white or that obnoxious new bright green flag for new items (the old corner banner was just fine).
Since the new SALE flag is probably here to stay, I think it would be nice if it changed to a different color and said "PC+" on relevant items for members who are logged in. That way it would be easy to tell at a glance what was everyday PC+ pricing and what was actually on sale without having to filter or consult a barrage of tiny and inconsistently applied icons, if we just want to take a quick daily browse. (This has probably already been said but I'll say it again anyway.)
It doesn't help that plugs vary a lot around the world.
