    My brain hurts. :blank: :blank:

I'm learning how to use microcontrollers to run DC and AC motors, sensing their positioning and speed so as to accurately stop, start, and move them. And no, it's nowhere near as simple as it sounds! :ahhh:

Will probably spend all day today in study and research.. I'm too old to be learning new things! Well, more than one new thing a WEEK... :red: :red:

What we do in robotics - and this may not be helpful to you I dunno - is turn a servo a little and go are we there yet? If no turn a little more, if yeah well yahoo! :)

9 hours 36 minutes later, it's done. I need to get it up to YouTube somehow, that's tonight's fun. :-S

    I hate insomnia.

Found tail and wing membrane.. they don't conform at all. Will keep searching, the ZIP file has stuff scattered all over...

CONTROL-clicking the pose did indeed keep the X/Y/Z/Scale, great catch! Next animation between poses rendering! :cheese:

Now I'm waiting for some volumetric fire to render, 104 frames to go I reckon a half hour going by the other hundred odd. The can shape Mac is (appropriately) blowing hot air like a fan forced heater from under the desk can feel it on my face :)

The round Macs are supposed to be pretty fast.. no surprise on the hot air tornado, though! :blank:

Not the fastest on the block, think that's still a dual 8 core 2012 E5 @ 3.2, still the single 12 core new E5 @ 266 is pretty fast, 216 <> 2K frames in under an hour at moderate quality setting, fluid sim took 5 minutes to write the volumetrics cache, think the new Intel math pipeline makes a difference there

Fire is starting to look like fire and look at that baby reflect wow

..holeee carp that looks good! Love to see the animation when it's finished.

Well hopefully nearing the end now, has been a marathon rather than a sprint but might have something to show in the new year - altho I saw the producer yesterday and (of course) he wants changes

Ooh, just received a tropic weather watch. Little chance for the thunderstorms to organize fully into a tropical storm/hurricane but there is a slight chance for tornados. But we're also to get rain. Also rip currents is possible

Are you near Bermuda? That is the only place that I know that has a tropical storm watch.

Texas. It's not a tropical storm but a series of thunderstorms in the gulf that's heading for Corpus. But we got an email at work that is a tropic weather watch update with information regarding these storms, like there's about a 10% chance these will develop into a hurricane before making landfall. And there's the slight risk of tornado

Stay safe! I hope it doesn't blow over, I hope it just passes on by without incident!

...well off to home and dinner. Another interview tomorrow morning so have to turn in early tonight.

Have fun, will be back sometime tomorrow.

    Take care! :cheese:

    +1

+2 hope that turns out well for you :)
..thank you all. Looks like it is. Barring anything unusual popping up in the usual background check (unless the occasional office pen or box knife that ended up in a pocket is now a criminal offence) I am scheduled to start in three weeks. Nice bennies and an easy "painless" commute compared to my previous job.

Stopped off at the hotspot for a few minutes to send messages/emails. Have to head home & change out of the interview clothes as it's heading towards the low 90s today and I'm waaaaaaaay overdressed.

Feels good finally being able to pull the plug on the other job search sites and say goodbye to 100+ emails a day clogging up my inbox.

    [need the old "whoopee" emote]

It's about time we got some good news in these forums. YIPPEE! CONGRATULATIONS! $$$$$

Does anyone know anything about seamonkeys/brine shrimp? I want to keep some and introduce them to my Bettas.

I could be wrong. but I think bettas might think seamonkeys are food.

I think you're correct on this, tjohn. Kulay, your bettas would love seamonkeys. Nothing better than a shrimp cocktail.

On to do list for me: Get a new email account, convert my account here to it.
THat way the next time I'm stuck on the Win 8 compy with WaterFox I can play around with things and figure out WTH Daz keeps insisting I have an invalid user id or password when I try to log in here.
No problem at all logging in on the XP machine with FireFox that I normally use and am back on now.

Dealing with paranoid android logins sure wastes a lot of lazing around time
It was certainly quite annoying. Also quite odd. This is the only site I visit that absolutely would not let me log in.
The reason I was on the backup compy is because my newly upgraded (back in early April) XP somehow got killed by a power blip even though it was on a surge protector. Turned out that the second HD had died and the compy couldn't boot with that drive plugged in even though it's the backup on. Now have a 1T HD in it's place.

I hope it gets all the way up here to Austin with rain. Early evening news said we had rain here today, but I didn't see or hear any.

Uurrgh... Go to sleep at 6:30PM, toss and turn for an hour, then wake up and fuddle about for a bit trying to get back to sleep, then end up just reading a book for a bit only to notice the time: 11:10PM.

Really? I only slept that long? Now I'm wide awake and unable to get back to sleep, which means tomorrow is going to be absolute crap - I can see it already :blank:

Wonder if they will do an AirFox for Macs? Our old (7?) XP box still chugs away sometimes when we need to print something but am expecting it to die maybe when the weather gets hot again. Three years seems to be the magic number, after that electronics get flakey with age and just give up the ghost sometimes for no apparent reason, is all normal the tech guys say

PS Password authentication is sooooo twentieth century, would be happy to get a ID chip implanted is it was practicable

I just heard on the radio that HP has put out a recall for certain laptop power cords . I didn't catch the model number since someone walked in just then but I figured I'll pass the word on.

Ok, thanks to Danas research I've had SOME luck with the wings. I had to:

    - load Ocean Queen
    - load wings w/ Ocean Queen selected
    - Apply materials separately to main figure and wings
    - Apply pose to main figure
    - THEN, apply pose to wings

    End result:

I'm rendering out brief animation now of the OQ changing position.. no idea when it'll finish. :blank:

Also having a miserable time getting my videos on YouTube, so I need to do some work there or find a way to compress the things myself and host them on my Website.. sigh. :-S

Gonna see if I can con one of my co-workers into dropping it off here, I can make my way to the bank then.. ugh..

TroutFace, I know how you feel. There are times when I forgot my checkbook and debit card at home.

Daz website is slow. I cannot access my product library or look at the store. I can log into the forums though.

Very slow for me, as well. Must be something going on with the servers... :blank:
