Am so sleep deprived coffee isn't working any more :)
..ice storms...yuck! When I hear even the mention in a forecast. I head to the market to stock up and plan to not leave the house until it warms up and melts. I live on a hill and at 61, no way am I about to take up downhill skating with no skates.
big chinks of ice fall out of the sky on us sometimes, not sure where they come from perhaps the south pole ?

Alas, cool as it would be if they did, they don't actually split the water molecules, just extract dissolved oxygen.

We did an experiment in Physical Science in high school once where we separated the oxygen and hydrogen from water, with just a lantern battery, a couple of rods attached to wires, inside upside down test tubes under water. It was cool. Put stoppers in the test tubes, then took a piece of wood (forget what they called it) and lit it on fire, blew it out and put it into the oxygen while still glowing and it ignited the oxygen. Then did that with the hydrogen test tube and it made a little explosion. It was pretty loud for a little test tube.

is roast chicken, a tandoor is an oven :)
I just Googled it, and the bunch of photos it shows confirms that it was the red coated chicken that I liked.

Well I'll probably sleep through the End of the Thread (TM) but I hope the next one has more dinosaurs in it :)

Work sucks more and more.. the hardware guy has been in a conference call and now he has to prove he can't work. He barely responds to info requests. I can see this ending badly. Need to save up cash to tide me between jobs, I might have 2-3 months before someone cancels this heaving disaster.
Fehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
My tablet won't turn on. I do not know what is wrong with it. I am searching online how to fix the problem.

Icy roads and sidewalks... ick But the afternoon in Austin looks nice. Hopefully the ice will melt before the evening.
edit: I missed the word rain. I thought the text said partly cloudy.
No, it's yucky here. Too wet to go to the park so I'm shut in with the 3-yr old. It's all downhill from here. Right now he's watching Bubble Guppies and one of my roomers is playing the piano.
This is what From: Jon Zeitler - NOAA Federal has to say this morning:
"6 PM Wednesday through Noon Thursday.
An upper level storm system will bring high precipitation chances Wednesday morning through Thursday morning. Strong upper level winds will generate stronger lift than previous systems, so some scattered thunderstorms will be possible during the day Wednesday before the front arrives. The Arctic front will arrive in Wednesday afternoon. Temperatures behind the front will fall drastically, with the Hill Country reaching freezing around 9 pm Wednesday. Northern portions of the I-35 corridor will fall below freezing shortly after midnight, including the Austin metro area.
Our current forecast is for sleet and freezing rain to begin across the Hill Country Wednesday night, then moving south to along and north of a line from Del Rio to San Antonio to Giddings by midnight. This mix will continue through Thursday morning for areas along and north of Highway 90. The best chance for ice accumulation and impacts will be in the Hill Country and along the northern I-35 corridor, where temperatures will be coldest. Temperatures should warm above freezing by noon on Thursday, and rain will taper off Thursday afternoon.
Just how much precipitation will fall, the exact type of precipitation, and how far south the freezing line will get are all still in question. As in past events this year, far southern and eastern areas will likely just see cold rain, western and northern areas (higher terrain) will probably get some ice, and areas in the middle (I-35 from San Antonio to Austin) will be stuck in the middle and could go either way. In cases like this, I-35 is literally a dividing line...colder air and ice chances in the hills, but just cold rain east of I-35.
Watch the forecast closely over the next 24 hours. There will likely be adjustments to the forecast. There is a high likelihood that portions of the area will be under some sort of winter weather advisory or winter storm warning for late Wednesday evening through noon Thursday."
The other roomer is a truck driver and he's already been to told to stay home.
@Annie - looks like you're getting the front that slammed us aroun 3:00AM. :bug: Went from 36F to 27F, rain turned to sleet, blech. Is now miserable outdoors.
Sure hope I don't get stuck here overnight...! :blank:

Stay safe!
never rendered sy's tentacle creature yet, maybe, put it to work selling lemonade
...saving mine (as well as the remainder of a GC) in hopes Stonemason releases Urban Sprawl 3 when his store comes up in the sale. Gonna be an expensive set (US2 is 49$) so need all the savings I can get.
Really difficult as Dogz's store is still featured and I have all three of the Old Railway sets (which would work well for the UK part of my story) on the wishlist. Should Sprawl 3 not be released yet, hopefully out there will be a catch up sale so I can get the three railway sets.
ketchup sale
