Change your password to something impossible to figure out on both sites and contact CS at both cases to inform them that it did happen.
When I had that cookie I wanted to eat so badly I could not take a picture of it.
hey how come my post was removed is this not the complaint thread ?
It wasn't removed. This is just a new page http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/52171/P1425/#775162
I see I'm a little jumpy
I already call both sites frank I opened a support ticket with daz and later they sent me a e-mail telling me there was no issues with their systems
and this morning i got a email from rendo telling me the same thing. I did change my passwords
just kind of strange i used this credit card on only 2 sites and they both say nothing is wrong.. yet i was still hacked.
what would you think Frank?
I would be to. Just make sure CS knows the exact details so they can try and track it down.
Sorry I misunderstood. I thought the $8000 was spend on DAZ and Rendo
No Frank that $8000 was what the hacker spent total on all the web sites he used the credit card on.
like Itunes. the Apple store. etc.
I have fraud alert and protection on all my credit cards and the credit card got suspicious when all these purchases were coming in from the UK when I live in the USA
So My Credit card services called me & stopped all payments immediately. and canceled my new credit card.
After I got off the p-hone with the Credit card service. I called Daz and Renderosity immediately. and Daz Opened a support ticket and later told me there was no issues
There seems to be a rash of card theft. Presumably you are running some kind of malware scanner anyway, but it may be worth trying an additional on-demand scanner - ideally, boot into safe mode with networking, download a clean copy of something like MalWare Bytes and run it.
I'm sorry you've been having hacker troubles. Ivy.
Pardon me for mixing Mythologies.

It is possible that the credit card company itself got hacked but they are not admitting it yet. There have been several of those recently. I prefer to use PayPal with 2-step verification to make online purchases.

Am sleep deprived and shakey-hand caffienated all at once, iz a cool breeze off the bay today and wuz shivering a bit as well before the sun came up. Ever-so-humble home never looked so good
I saw a weather map last night that showed you at one end of this mess and me at the other. Either we're both unlucky or together we control the universe. I pick the latter. Bright blue sky here, very little ice (could have been much worse, 39F. Redbud trees and wild verbena are blooming.
No, she's not at the other end...I am! I think we've gotten at least another 8 inches already...and it hasn't stopped yet! >:-(

...crikey, and I just purchased something on the Fastgrab Extraviganza only a short while ago.
...sad thing, in the corner of your screenshot it has an article on the "mild winter" in Alaska forcing changes to the Iditarod.

Firstly, I would never use my credit card at either site! I use PayPal. There is a problem that most business sites still don't seem to understand. They think they're secure. They have an SSL certificate (gives you the padlock). The problem? The entire site is not secured. If you start in plain text mode (http:) and then transfer to secure mode (https:) from there, you are open to what is known as a man-in-the-middle attack. Even sites like Amazon still don't make the entire site secure yet. Some sites have finally caught on, but not a lot. This happened to me last year at Staples.com. I almost never use my credit card online, and hadn't in a long time, but a day after I made that purchase, I was notified that there was a suspicious charge on my account and they were putting a hold on it and I'd have to get a new card. There is no way to tell if a hacker is intercepting traffic between you and a website. There's no way for them to tell, either, in many cases.
Use PayPal. I've had no issues at all here or at Renderosity or RuntimeDNA or any other site as long as I use PayPal. Buy yourself a gift card, check out with PayPal, and then use the gift card to make your purchases. That will work, too.
This post might be deleted. I don't know.

My systems are pretty secure Richard. I build web sites for a living so my system is maintained very well. nothing is fool proof I know. but unlikely it came from my systems. But i did check.
I have had Kaspersky professional suite.and Maleware Bytes for a long time and both are up to-date. I ran a scan for a second time this week and I found nothing on my both my system(s)
I have changed all my passwords. on all my accounts, and on my DSL Proxy firewall.
lastly I should mention that I used my desk top PC to make my purchases at Daz and My Laptop for Renderosity. so I used 2 different devices to make my purchases with one credit card. on one wireless DSL protected by a proxy firewall.
The only thing i did differently that I can remember. is I usually use my Credit card vault that came with Kaspersky and i have installed on both computers
But where this was a brand spanking new credit card never used accept for Daz and renderosity. and i had not entered into my Security vault yet. so I just used it normally .
I was smart enough to get fraud protection & alerts on all my credit cards. that is how i knew that my brand new credit cards was compromised. I don't know how it happen. But I only used that credit card on 2 sites.
So if its not my systems and Daz and renderosity say they have no security issues. then what am I suppose to think?
So what I am going to do from now on though. is just put what ever money i need into my paypal account to make any online purchase and use paypal that for a while and see if anyone else is having their credit cards compromised.

I use to use paypal all the time. until i got the security vault But I am going back to paypal.
Several of my friends erefuse to use PayPal and try encouraging others not to as well because of the - usually very small - "tax" they apply when sending money to others. Oh no, PayPal took $5 from me when a person was paying me to do art for them, suddenly I am very furious.
Downloading itunes can get so annoying. Why cannot it be simple for me?
