Flash sales - as long as you don’t live in Europe!

Daz Did flash sales run up until midnight MST then finish right at the moment when people in Europe might benefi?
I ask beause I spotted one at about 3:00am (GMT) and another was just finishing at 6:55am, far too late for me to do anything with.
I know that the nature of flash sales is that someone somewhere misses out, but running one after another through the night in Europe, if that's what happened, seems a bit unfair. Or were there other sales in the evening our time yesterday I didn't spot?
I wonder if they do it just before the promotions change, as interest in the older ones wanes?

Maybe I'm being unfair. Going by my recent Daz deals mails, I'd say the majority of flash sales are of no use in Europe, but a small number have been at sensible times. Maybe it all balances out?
Who knows? I wish I was obsessive enough to keep stats. But I'm not!
I've noticed that a flash sale (sometimes two) pop up most evenings UK time. Sometimes I check at 8pm GMT and there is a sale, sometimes at 10pm and there is either the same sale or a different one.
The good news is that what ever you are after will come up on sale at some point in the month, so patience is a virtue*.
*p.s. I don't have much, but it is good to make the 3d budget stretch further.
Thanks, that's worth looking out for, must admit I'd not noticed that. And you are of course right, these things will go on sale sooner or later - there's always another sale :)
I was probably in a bad mood because there was 60% off Lindsay if you bought three which would have been nice to get, but no way I could choose three items in 5 minutes!
Sign up for Ati's emails if you really want to know what you're missing during your beauty sleep.
Yes, I have that and I wish I didn't check! There have been flash sales at night most nights this week at times convenient to the US :(
Very little in Europe. Still, I can wait. I don't have a shortage of stuff...
Here we go again. Sale starting at 11:00pm and finishing at 3:00am. Will there be another that runs from 3:00am until 7:00am like there was yesterday? Will they continue into the European day or stop just as we get up like last time? Lets's see. These sales need to be distributed evenly so all timezones get a fair chance, otherwise some people are going to feel that they aren't loved, and that their support is not being appreciated or rewarded.
For those of you in bed, today's offer to those outside Europe is 3 select Daz Originals for 80% off - over 6,000 items included. Pretty good offer.
Lucky for me I was out late and spotted it. Usually I'd be in bed!
This is by far the best flash sale I've ever seen. Sure it was 3 items, but with no coupons it means it had UNLIMITED USES. So if you are a Daz+ member you had thousands of items to buy at a whooping 87% off. The only other deal that beat this sale are the $1.99 sales.
Now another one with 50% off a whole bunch of itens.
Daz. Are you trying to make your European customers angry or do we get a sale we can benefit from tomorrow? (Ot technically today- it's 5am here!)
I expect to miss some glad sales but not for that to repeat day after day. Maybe Daz will prove me wrong tomorrow,,,
(I did not get up to check this - I just wake up in the night :) )
Doh! I missed the multiple use thing. I got three things for about $3 each then went to sleep!
Right... Time to try and sleep though I'm feeling quite angry about these constant deals and I don't fancy my chances :(
...I used my DAZ+ Coupon (which I usually space on very month) on one purchase and got 135$ worth of content for 10$.
Daz - a anything like this planned for Europe?
OK... Here are last week's flash sales based on my Ati mails. Sorry if I missed one...
Of these sales, only one is truly helpful to someone in the UK. I'm going to apply Hanlon's Razor to this and raise a support call pointing out that these practices are unfair and are making me disinclined to give Daz any more money right now. Flash sales need to be scheduled evenly so that everyone across the globe has a a fair change to benefit.
If you want to see what you missed out on yesterday, read the comments above.
Am I the only person feeling frustrated by this?
Nope. Mentioned this a few days ago in the sales issue thread as well.
Good to know I have company and I'm not going mad! Did it start before this week or is it a new thing?
I've shopping at DAZ for a couple years now, and it never has been different. Seems only the US market is important for DAZ. Just another proof that they still seem to have got a Mom & Pop shop mentality in the times of world wide internet shopping...
Well I'm spending a fortune here, but knowing that other people are being offered the same products for less money is making me think about whether I want to carry on doing that. I kind of wish I hadn't signed up to that Ati thing!
It wasn't always like this, I caught plenty of flash sales last year... way too many for my wallet. Sure, there were plenty during US hours only, but it's only been since the start of this year thet they were ALL during those hours.
Well here is my support email. I realise that I can't disclose the response publically, but I'll let people know the jist of it (assuming they do respond!). I am not expecting anything to come of it. It just makes me feel better...
As a customer spending around <a ridiculous amount of money> a year, I'd like to get a response from your marketing team regarding last week's sales.
Here are last week's Flash sales from the perspective of someone living in the UK based on my Ati emails. It's entirely possible I didn't get this 100% correct, so please feel free to correct any errors. I wouldn't want to feel I was being unfair.
17th January. Flash sale starts at 7 pm and runs to 11 pm.
18th January. Flash sale starts at 10 pm and runs to 3 am.
18th January. Flash sale starts at 3 am and runs to 7 am.

20th January. Flash sale starts at 10 pm and runs to 3 am.
21st January. Flash sale starts at 11 pm and runs to 3 am.
21st January. Flash sale starts at 3 am and runs to 7 am.
Comments on the forum suggest that in one sale (the first on the 21st), US customers were able to purchase Daz Original items at 87% off. They had a selection of over 6,000, and they could buy as many as they wanted.
I'm going to apply Hanlon's Razor and assume that excluding Europeans from most Flash sales was accidental rather than intentional. Still, as a loyal customer spending a lot of money regularly, I don't feel it's unreasonable to expect a response to these questions:
1. Do you feel that Flash sales should be scheduled such that everyone globally has a chance to benefit from around half of them, or do you think instead that every single one should be targeted specifically at those in US time zones?
2. If the former, do you intend to schedule a sale of use to Europeans offering similar benefits to the one attached? (I attached a screenshot of the promotion offering 80% off Daz originals)
3. If your best deals are effectively US exclusives, how do you expect European customers to feel about that?
It kind of seems that way! Most of these are completely off limits to me. Only Monday's was truly useful, and as you would expect, it didn't contain anything I wanted!
I've certainly caught them in the past too. When I went through those Ati mails, I was pretty shocked to see what Daz is doing right now.
I can't imagine this is deliberate. It'll be like when they started that NFT thing and shut it down before anyone in Europe got the free item. It was down to thoughtlessness rather than malice, and they put things right. Let's hope they'll do the same again.
I'm going to keep a much closer eye on the Ati emails in future. I should keep stats and post them to my thread! It's the sort of ridiculous thing I'd do![laugh laugh](https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/teeth_smile.png)
I'm very unhappy about the times flash sales have been run recently as well, I even put it in a sales feedback once. I do think it's different than, say, a year ago where I used to catch lots of really good flashes in the later evening / early night (Berlin time) - these days, all we Europeans seem to get is rather lame sales a la 'get 55% of these select 5 DAZ items if you buy 6 of them'. So there ARE sales during the European day sometimes, but they're no way as good as what the DAZ time zoners are getting. It makes me quite mad and has had me cutting down my WL a lot. I don't have this hobby to be irritated really ...
@AndrewJJP, thanks for the ticket you put in! Great idea and very well phrased I thought.
Thanks for highlighting what we in Europe are missing, nothing like a little bit of salt rubbed in the wounds.
Another unhappy European customer here.
I couldn't sleep yesterday evening, and sometime between 01:00 and 02:00 a.m. I checked Daz store for a flash sale. I was amazed. I only used the option once, because I finally felt my eyes wanting to get a few shutters, so I was unable to make better use of the offer.
Daz, are you actively trying to make us angry at you?![angry angry](https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/angry_smile.png)
You're welcome, and thanks!
I think you summed up my feelings pretty well there. This hobby should be fun, not irritating, and if there's a perception that things are not fair, it's not fun any more.
When I come to the Daz site to see what the new items are, I used to feel enthusiastic, hoping that maybe one of my favourite artists had something new to offer. Today, I just feel pretty annoyed. I'm sure that "annoyed" and "irritated" are not emotions Daz wants their customers to feel when they visit the site.
Thanks to everyone that's repsonded so far. Please keep it coming and maybe something might happen. Maybe...?
I'll reference this thread on my support call.
Missing out on flash sales due to having a stable-ish sleep schedule ultimatley means I end up spending less money, so the loss is on daz
Absolutely true. Even though I do wake up in the night quite often, I'm generally not in the mood for shopping!
Can we politely reasses the wording here? Is all about timezones, not US vs Europe. Last time I checked there are other continents and Europe is not the only place on earth that doesn't share the same timezones as the US. I don't live in US nor in Europe and have missed many flash sales as well. It seems that if US was located in Africa you'd be fine with their current practices.
So in light of being more inclusive why not ditch the US vs Europe rhetoric and focus on timezones?
Just a thought.
You raise I good point. I'll edit my posts to reflect this.
I personally don't care much about 65% and below sales. There's always one of those going on.
The really good ones, though...
I was lucky to catch yesterdays 80% sale despite taking place during rather inconvenient (to me) hours. It was a pretty good sale!
Earlier this year I missed an even better one because it ran in the middle of the night. It was a bummer.
Over at the competition they're currently doing this thing where their sales run 2x 6 hours, from 9 am to 3 pm and again from 9 pm to 3 am.
I like that system, seems more fair to all customers around the world.
