I hope the trial of PowerDVD will work on my desktop so I can watch a movie tonight. Wonder which movie is in the bluray drive, Stargate or Despicable me

It is the Stargate movie that I wanted to watch since I ordered it last week from Amazon and got Wednesday but was having computer problems that caused me not to be able to watch the video.

Good thing is that whatever I did to fix the bluray problem allowed me to have Paint Shop Pro again which I did pay for. I got it with my desktop in 2010.

I never heard of Stargate. I'll have to watch a trailer of Stargate.

It is the movie with James Spader and Kurt Russell. came out in 1994. I watched it for the first time sometime after that as I remember I was in high school when I first watched it. I liked it since then.

It is about a portal that takes people to another planet in the galaxy or universe. Love that idea of space travel. It allows "primitive": people to travel the stars without faster than light travel which is non primitive technology.

Morning. A Vincent Van kinda stormy day painted blue and grey from roiling thunderheads ragged as old overalls. But no rain :)

Fun movie, but some cringe-worthy dialogue in some spots.

Funny seeing Stewart from 3rd Rock From The Sun as a tough Marine.

got mimic for ca 17$ the mei lin pro bundle 23$

sitting at the kitchen table can be esspensive

Mimic for ca works well but I can't figure out how to convert the non linear bits to keyframes. Maybe you just can't ? :)

wendy says can't, mimic for carrar uses nla

don't know what that means yet

Non Linear Animation tracks, good for loops and extending/reducing animation tracks. No keyframes means what gors into Carrara stays in Carrara unless there is some way to convert NLA clips to keyframes :)

That isn't for postwork. The other one is, the one with the zdepth effects mask...Mood Master. Light Dome Pro is lights for DS.

Sorry...saw later that 2 is a combination of lights and postwork layers. Not good. Ithink I have that. Never even knew that. Never got to use the first one even. Well, once maybe. It has a lot of lights. A lot of lights. In just one scene. Too many lights.

I tried to use one of those finance management applications a couple of times but they seemed overly complicated for my technically oriented brain, and not an exact fit to my life situation.

After I retired though I had to find some way to keep track of my miniscule income so that I wouldn't overspend. I forced myself to learn how to use a spreadsheet application like Microsoft Office "Excel" It started out as a simple one page budget. Then as I learned more about how spreadsheets worked I kept adding features. I added a separate page for each month that details each cash or check or credit card transaction then automatically summarized those onto a summary page. Then added automatic tables and graphs for my automobile miles per gallon.

I keep track of my credit card balances, limits, and links to the on-line websites for the banks just by clicking on my spreadsheet.
I automatically carry over balances from the previous year into a new copy of the spreadsheet.
I have automatically calculated "Totals" columns, "Averages" columns, and "Over/under budget" columns. Since I started this method I haven't bounced a check, my balances are always kept accurate to the penny, and I sleep at night.

It's grown into a monster but it's exactly the information I wanted to know. Perhaps I could have done it with Quicken or QuickBooks or MS Money but those apps kept changing every year and you had to keep buying new versions. My personalized spreadsheet is mine and it's customized just for me, by me, and doesn't cost me a penny because I use the free "OpenOffice:Calc" spreadsheet from www.OpenOffice.org

Just because they make a new version doesn't mean you have to upgrade! I've been using MS Money 2004 Deluxe since I bought it and it's fine for me. I download my credit union transactions, credit card transactions and sometimes even my PayPal transactions (when I remember) into it and keep everything balanced and cleared and showing me correct balances. I even use it to print reports when I get my taxes done sometimes. It still runs in Windows 7 Pro.

The DVD player software that came with my computer cannot or will not play my Netflix buray videos or my bluray copy of stargate.

Well, that's because it's a DVD player. Blue Ray is a different animal.

That could very well be true and I'm glad it works out that way for you. Personally though in my semi-retirement phase, when I was doing personal and small business PC repair in order to eat, I've had a couple of customers who have run into problems with one or more of those products becoming obsoleted by time or OS upgrades, or databases not upgrading from ancient version to modern version unless you went through at least some intermediate versions. Scared me silly that I'd booger their database somehow so I usually begged out and referred them to a specialist.

When I was in my prime in the government and corporate world I didn't do databases, I didn't do business software. They were complete mysteries to me. I designed operating systems, refined communication protocols, did system & network monitoring and management, designed graphic interfaces, as well as automated & robotic control processes and research into many of those areas. Those I could handle. The complicated stuff like spreadsheets or having to make a three-party phone call boggled my mind and I had to find me a secretary to set it up. :red:

Many of my deepest problems were solved driving home on the Washington DC beltway at 70 miles an hour with 10,000 lines of code scrolling through my brain. If the drivers around me only knew... :bug:

Another thing I never got into was security. I had plenty of opportunity but I couldn't wrap my head around the fact that the science had to take a back seat to security. Programs were so much easier to conceive and implement when you didn't have to worry about physical or logical bombs. I met a lot of people dedicated to security. Weird paranoid bunch! :ohh:

Hope TroutFace's place get's their wireless fixed.

I have v4 Reby but probably will genx her to g2f so those magnets are useless to me.

theres a reby shape for genesis,
...don't have that either as I am not into using "supermodels" in my scenes.

...well my boys came up 5 points short tonight. A bit bummed as this was the best team we had in a long time which actually had the chance to win it all. Wisconsin has very high academic standards unlike many of the "elite" sports schools, so recruiting top players is very very tough. We hung in there but just couldn't get that last scoring run we needed. to win. Yet another heartbreaking loss for a team that has tonnes of character compared to their opponent. Most of our top players graduate this year so most likely I will never see another Wisconsin team this good again for the rest of my life.

At least our fans keep it classy, accepted the defeat, and didn't tear up the town like Kentucky fans did after they lost. In my book that does make us "the best".

I read elsewhere that Nerd3D has been appointed Product Manager for Poser. He has disappeared from the vendor list here! I had a couple of his things in my wishlist. That is my complaint!
