exhausted working too many hours?
new roommate a pita?
spent too much money in the sales?
drizzly gray skies for 4 days straight?
it'll get better. summer is coming :)
Not liking my new roommate and spent too much in the sales and cloudy days getting to me. I feel like I have too much pressure to be perfect but feel like a failure.

Madness would characterise the past few days here, have to get through what looks like a five hour schedule before dark. Before that really

Behind as a white rabbit's watch
Complaint: Not liking Turbosquid's new layout. Makes finding specific types of things very.... Tedious. They pretty much removed the Category listing, so everything is lumped under "3D Model" unless you search for something specific. Can still filter by File Type at least, so there's that. Not like Turbosquid is the best place to go looking for things to begin with, but even so...

looking at amtrak disney vacation packages. train, hotel, park passes. wanna see harry potter park.
didn't win lotto, gonna have to earn it the old fashion way.
Ooh, Universal Studio, Orlando, Harry Potter. I wanna go. Can I come? Butter beer, magic wands, Hogwarts train rides, fire breathing dragons, magic shoppes,...
With a magic wand you don't need lotto. Just swish and flick.

Unless you were in the mood for clucking and pecking at the ground for food...it was a foul mood. ;-)

Don't go to Florida at the height of summer! Lived there for 30 years. Only tourists go to the parks in summer. Millions of them with their hot, cranky, sticky, whiney, kids. Attraction wait lines are interminable. Go in September/October or March/April. Usually much more agreeable weather and smaller crowds. Only drawback to that time of year is that they shorten their hours but sometimes on weekends or around Halloween they extend hours to normal. Pick a day(s) when they have extended hours (to 9 PM instead of 5PM). Halloween in Universal is a hoot!!! If you really don't like long lines you can pay extra when you get your ticket to be able to make appointments at an attraction and get in usually in less than 10 or 15 minutes instead of 2 hours.
Universal has four major sections:
1) Parking: Huge multi-level parking garage about $15- $20 for all day parking. Handicap people pay a few dollars more to park nearer the front. elderly people who aren't officially handicapped can pay for that service too. If you stay at a Universal Hotel they get you to/from the park for free. If you stay outside the park most good hotels provide a park transit bus to Disney or Universal at least and maybe SeaWorld too. Universal's parking garage has long "slidewalks" and escalators like in an airport that speed you along toward the park entrance. If you drive a car you have to park in the Universal garage unless you want to walk two miles from outside the park. When you get parked in the garage remember where you parked!!!!!!! Big advantage of parking at Universal as compared to Disney is that your car is out of the sun or rain (unless you have to park on the top level).
2) From the parking garage you enter Universal "City Walk". This area is free to the public (except for parking) and is full of gift shops and restaurants and movie theaters (3D and IMAX too). (think high-end open-air mall without the department stores and boutiques). There's a "Margaretaville" Caribbean type restaurant, a "BubbaGumps" seafood restaurant, The Orlando "Hard Rock Café" is there and many others. Outdoor stage area along the lagoon where there are free performances. Also the "Blue Man Group" performs in their own theater in the CityWalk area each night. (Separate tickets required.)
3) Walking to the left from CItyWalk is Universal "Islands of Adventure": Ticket required: Major amusement park rides, roller coasters, water flumes, super hero characters, 3D movie rides (Spiderman), Freefall rides (Dr. Doom), Jurassic Park dinosaurs & ride, HarryPotter Hogwarts castle & Hogsmead, Dr. Seuss rides for kids. And other attractions as well as snacks and drinks and beer.
4) Walking to the right from CityWalk is Universal "Studios": (Ticket Required) Several movie sets & associated rides, indoor rides like the new "Despicable Me" and "Transformers" rides. Speedboat shows in the lagoon, snacks & drinks, HarryPotter Diagon Alley. If you have a ticket for both parks you can ride the Hogwarts train between the two HarryPotter areas.
Tickets ain't cheap but multi-day multi-park tickets are a relative bargain and ease your conscience a bit. If you're a first timer, one day isn't enough.
I lived down there a long time so I've seen most of it but I still want to get back to see the new HarryPotter Diagon Alley.
And as long as you're in that general area of Orlando, "Downtown Disney" is a free public area like Universal's CityWalk so check it out too. The Cirque du Soleil "LaNouba" show has it's own theater in "Downtown Disney". (ticket required)

Due to construction and expansion in "Downtown Disney", parking is very limited. Take taxi or bus or hotel transport services.
Incidentally, long before Disneyworld opened I first visited the area that is now known as Downtown Disney when there was one small single story building that housed drawings and models of what Disneyworld was to envisioned to become at that time. That building was down a long narrow country road through the middle of miles of a Florida swamp. The year was around 1969 I was still in college. The original exhibit building is long gone but the area around that building is now a bustling city area full of huge hotels and the Downtown Disney specialty buildings.
wanna ride that hogwart's train. and get candy from the trolley.
