Mars madness?

With the new marketing orientation of DAZ, with lower introductionary discounts, smaller bundles and so on, I'm a bit worried that this old tradition has been retired.
I had almost expected a sneak start yesterday, because some years the MM has started the same week as March begins, but no. And when there was no sign of MM even today, I'm beginning to wonder if this sale is canned too.

Ack Ack Ack Ack, Ack!!!
Well, it looks like another day to save my pennies.
No Madness?
Hmmm .... I have been holding off on some purchases hoping for some good sales during madness ... even though last years sale was rather disappointing compared to years past. It is not just the pricing changes that are slowly making this site less relevant to my 3D rendering projects (loss of vendors, lowering quality, and less variation in bundle themes to name a few ). Still, I am rather glad I got in several years ago when I did and was able to purchase many things at those discounts and while those vendors were still here. I am using these products a lot and appreciate the work of everyone involved in producing and selling them. With or without March Madness, we shall see where the future takes this company.
Not here. Just everywhere else.....
Got that right!![frown frown](https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/confused_smile.png)
well, President said there were just 2 day's big discount by him.
I thought last years March Madness was amazing! I got so much stuff...
I'm a bit confused that this years March Madness hasn't started yet, but perhaps that's a good thing for my wallet!
This is only the 1st of March. In the past it has started early and late so don't give up too soon.
Agreed and last year was my first year of even knowing Daz3d existed. It was probably the month I got really hooked tbh.
We need good things for our wallets these days! Let's make this a feel-good thing!
I went wild on sales over the last 2 years, (relative to my sub-poverty-level income). I finally have about all I could ever need for book covers, corny jokes, animation ideas... (except a computer to render them)...
And we still see some very good sales here. I just picked up the PW Nirvana Space Station at 67% off a few days ago. This is good!
Of course it wouldn't be the same for newer people here who haven't yet compiled a large base of props. It's bad timing, for sure, when you add the economic crises, poor GPU availablity, Daz3D's inability to improve Filament up to its possibilities as a good alternative to Iray's demand for those GPUs, etc. Those factors have stung me big-time, so I understand the pressure on newer hobbyists that this would be.
But things go in cycles, right? I'm putting more effort these days into studying aspects of DS that I never had time for until now. I want to be ready for better times. Learning Blender 3D is an option, as well. (I've already modeled a "Gopher Plant" and a spider web - very encouraging for an old guy like me).
So hang in there folks! Things will improve here, and if not, something better will come along. That's capitalism, right?
I almost bought everything I need for my next game projects so far with the 70% flash sales... BUT if they do some 90% flash sales on something I need later on I might buy more and if there is a 90% flash sale on all Interactive Licenses then I would add many.
Anything below 80% sales wouldn't be worth buying much until I finished and sold my current projects.
I will see what they come up with. 50% and 60% sales are happening everytime so if I buy more in advance for projects I might make next year the assets must be discounted heavily. Otherwise for the usual discount price I will buy later and save money for now until I earned whatever from my current projects.
I was curious... Last year's big sales would suggest that the 1st of March is a little early to give up, like @Frank0314 says.
I don't think there's much of a pattern. It'll probably start soon if it's going to, and if it doesn't I'm sure there will be something else. It's kind of how things seem to work here. It seems unlikely that Daz is about to abandon random sales! It's all part of the fun![smiley smiley](https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/regular_smile.png)
Maybe a DAZ representative could answer the question of if or when. If people are waiting for a March Madness. Sale they probably are holding of on buying anything until the sale starts.
Just think how extra rich you will be by the end of March Madness. I want a free ride on the new yacht you buy with your savings :-)
Sadly no yacht for me. I have to devote the money to a new heat pump instead.
I used to pay cash for everything and accumulated a TON of change. Last week I took it all down to a conversion machine, all $1327 worth,
LOL
I emailed DAZ customer support asking whether there would be a March Madness sale. This was the response:
"Unfortunately we do not currently have a scheduled date for this sale at this time. Without such date I cannot confirm this at this time. If the sale is ever available it will be visible in the store page. If you have any additional questions or concerns please feel free to ask."
Well... at least they didn't say, "Soon."
What ? Maybe no March Madness this year ?
Well, more time to save my money.
ETA: Maybe if enough people stop buying, DAZ will reconsider their llimited sales.
No March Maddness Sale means I'm going to take the money I was saving up for the month long sale and buy a DIGITAL PROJECTOR!
"I'm sorry, but we don't have a start date for one of our biggest yearly sales events, even though we're technically at the start of said yearly sales event?"
Um...
TBH I sincerely hope that is not how they're running things at Daz Central...
The madness started about a year ago.
March sadness
Well, it's here. With a... wierdly low res picture at the new releases?
But hey, we got it :)
Ha ha. The March Madness Sale started, but unfortunately 15 minutes ago I spent the $700 I'd saved for the sale on a digital projector from Amazon. Great marketing strategy DAZ "Unfortunately we do not currently have a scheduled date for this sale at this time. Without such date I cannot confirm this at this time. If the sale is ever available it will be visible in the store page. If you have any additional questions or concerns please feel free to ask.".
I'm not cancelling the order for the projector. My purchases from DAZ are going to have to be minimal. And actually the enthusiasm and anticipation I had for the sale has shifted to disinterest.
Well it has started. But has it really? IIRC, new release discoutns are generally higher that usual in March Madness, not the same (i.e. the tedious 20%). For me, this is a "20% day" so I lose interest almost instantly. There's no voucher (last year you could get 18% off), so under my budgeting rules I can't buy anything anyway.
Edit: OK, there are some cheap items, it was the 20% that stopped me looking properly. No voucher is the killer for me, That's how I limit spending, so there's no more money spent here until I can get one.
Well said lol!
Absolutely agree, and would like to add that postwork can do a lot for people with bad hardware like me!
