Never underestimate a rock.
... When you're in a dungeon and your rusty sword breaks - a rock can be a life-saver!
I haven't bought a card for over a year; only ran out of credit in February. I was buying less.
I might be tempted on a decent credit offer; 20% or less with a buy-in is a long way from decent in my book.
The last month, I've spent elsewhere.
The Mars madness was strong in time at V4-M4 , In general, I do not like the idea of a Mars madness .
Just adding my voice to the overwhelming sea of disappointed poeple. Their new tactics have reduced my buying to an absolute minimum. I guess I have to thank DAZ for killing my DAZ addiction.
I'm not seeing any $1 items anywhere.
You need DAZ+ membership...
Oh. I let that lapse a while ago. Haven't seen a reason to re-up.
I got a lot of poses during a flash sale. I was disappointed when you had to buy a bundle to unlock weapon sale prices. I considered it too since I like the bundle's hair
The new armor looks really good and I still have a lot on my wishlist and am prioritizing weapons, poses, and environments since that's where I'm usually missing
i suggest make 3 Days madness 14 -15 - 16 every month .
I'm not disagreeing with anyone disappointed. This should be called the March Lameness sale. But last year there were so many sales that it became the norm. Maybe have fewer sales but make them mean something. And move the DAZ+ discount back to 30%.
@Torquinox Ah yes. I forgot to say I'm a PC+ member.
Incidently I wonder if the $1.99 offers return for the Annual PC+ sale or whether that will be at Mars madness levels too?
I wouldn't set the expectations too high - this looks like it is the new norm.
On the other hand, it looks like my current store credit can last for a long time.
@felis - Yes. Feels that way. However if you can find a use for the older stuff (G2 --> V4/M4) then the offers are still good.
It looks like we are all agreed that our 3D money can find a new home. Perhaps aiming at a new graphics card for example?
Thanks! Anything good in the $1 box? Are they Daz+ items or what? I'm actually holding out to see what the PC+ sale brings. I guess it'll be Daz+ now, but that has been my favorite. Of course, that will depend on my computer situation. It's a bit disheartening to know my intended middle-of-the-pack upgrade solution will set me back about $4k. At least, that's how it looks to me right now.![surprise surprise](https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/omg_smile.png)
when is the DAZ+ sale?
Isn't that in September?
Just a correction, the DAZ+ is still at 30% off, what changed was the new items discount.
Last year there were two... one in Spring, one in Autumn.
PC anniversary sale is in October. September is PA sale.
There was also a "Semi Annual PC+ sale" in June for the past few years, no idea if there will be one this year too.
Yes, thanks. We shall see.
It might need to. I wouldn't be at all surprised if we've seen the last gift card sale...
Fairly simple. Without a good gift card sale, my spending has been much less. Looks like it stays that way.
It might be as dumbed down as this so called March Maddness sale, in which case it will not be something to get too excited about. It was a pretty good sale in the last two years when they started to run it.
I just looked througn my March purchases from last year. Two gift cards at 20% off, and every non-pc+ item was either 51% or 55% off. I averaged something over $30 a day during the month. This year - a couple of Daz+ items and several of the new volumetric products at 30% off. And I've only added 5 items to the wishlist this month.
It is even worse when the items in the $5 grab bag were $1.99 less than a year ago. Here is just one example.
$3.99 March 8
$3.49 March 22
$3.99 April 3
$2.49 April 26
$1.99 May 22
This item was released on Sept 2020, so it was just under 6 months old when the March Madness 2021 sale came around, and the price dropped even more on the sale in May. Now the item is a year and a half old, but the sale is worse.
I get that inflation is happening. But this sale has a grab bag that is more than double the prices past grab bag deals were, and this is only the tip of the iceberg in rising Daz prices. A $2.99 grab bag would make more sense and fall in line with where inflation is going. A lot of people are penny pinchng now, and the last thing you want people to do is to think about their purchase. The more you slide into the impulse range of a customer's mentality the more you can sell to them. These are digital goods. Most of them made their investment back a long time ago.
As prices rise, I also have the impression that new items and in particular many genesis 8.1 figures are below the standard from past years while being priced ridicuously higher.
I just noticed, that within weeks I have almost completely stopped spending money here while I was wasting literally hunderds of dollars here each month before. Daz should just fire the marketing team.
And take a look at the thread subjects in the COMMONS FORUM - it seems an awful lot of products have problems with them.
I guess I should have made my earlier points here more in the form of a question. Is it a shock that prices go up in economic downturns? Everything else has gone up, why all the complaints??
Again: There are other, more supportive things that could be done for customers like us, while the prices do necessarily remain higher.
Make changes to the software so that we can be more productive with it being less expensive to do so. This is the only thing they could be doing to compensate for our "misery" with inflated pricing.
As I said earlier, I've been working with an old, weak machine. I don't care what the prices of props are because I have little reason to buy them as long as any possible use of them is so extremely limited by the cost of rendering!
I have finally put together a small machine to replace my old, overheating one. It will only handle musical hobbies. It will not handle iray or several tools any better than my old one. Why should I spend money on an outrageously expensive system? I'm only a hobbyist!
I'm frankly amazed at the complaining over prices in this thread. It's like some here are more addicted to buying things than they are to creating things! My only wish is for Filament to be made as fast yet attractive as it could be, and my purchases here will remain at minimum until that happens.
I'm looking at the larger picture, because we're heading for some possibly very bad times.
the abilty to render stuff certainly is more of the deciding factor than the price, some PAs even if they put a product in a $2 grab I hesitate because I know their sets won't fit on my card
Fugazi is one, I know many love their sets (their previous collabarion ironman13 ones too have this limitation) but only people with powerful machines or using the CPU doing single images can use them in DAZ studio.
I am only finally using them now in Unreal Engine or Unreal based software.
