I need to set aside a little cash to deal with March Madness, in case something appropriate turns up for cheap... :red:

Well, it's only day two of March, but the madness hasn't been so mad for me so far. March Madness used to be fantastic. But this business of buy two new releases to get any deals on other stuff is just a damper. I don't have a lot to spend anyway, but that makes it a no-starter for me. We'll see how things go as it wears on.

    Dana

You don't need to buy ANY new releases (except to get the free item) -- you can put an old item in the cart and get 40% off or 2 and get 50% off, no new item required.

Just read the newest Halo book (Halo: New Blood), start to finish without stopping. Very very good by the way, and was great to see some old faces return and how they're adapting to the post-war universe :)

In eBook format though, so I had to grab Adobe Digital Editions while I was at it, but hey. Book was only $5 too ^_^

...yeah she was on FG during the PC sale.Used my coupon and got her for 7$ and change. Get some fairy wings and you can do fairy pinups. :cheese:

Holding on to the remaindeer of a GC in hopes that Stonemason will release Urban Sprawl 3 this month.

...though that Japanese Temple Bundle by Predatron is very tempting. Would work great for KK's (the character) story.

Gog.com's having a sale right now too it seems. 90% off on certain titles (Which they'll be rotating every so often) and some thrown into the Free price range from time to time.

Maybe it's time to go back into game development.. with a small investment I could develop for Windows and Android, if the game took off then I could afford to buy a Mac and an iPhone. Plus, I can do my own audio work! Whooopieee! :cheese:

Unity Pro is $1500.. a laptop with a decent 3D card is under $1000.. the free version of Unity is good enough to start making simple games.. Blender is free and will export Unity assets.. hmmmmm.. still know a few folks in the biz here and there..

Ooooh, good point! I have a raft of wings, maybe I'll have a go at a fairy pinup! :vampire:

Just finished setting up my paid Github account, $7/mo. for source code control and issue tracking, with automatic backups.. cheap at the price. :cheese: That's abut it for things I can do during dead time at wok, once I get home it's fix a drink and install all the tools I need t get started on development.

Next up, shop for a gamedev system and wishlist it so I have a target to shoot for. And more coffee.. urgh.. snzzzzzzzzzzzz

*note to self:bring in earbuds so I can spend lunch watching tutorials*

...back in Steven's Point Wisconsin the liquor stores would deliver. We had one of them on the speed dial during the 56 hour trivia marathon at the college there.

"Need a couple bottles of Jack, some Wodka, and a case of Point Special - Stat!"

BTW finally found a Granny Cart model (.obj format) over on Turbosdquid but it's only 3$. Now I can finally finish that bus stop scene I've been working on. If I were any good at modelling (which I am definitely Not!) I'd have done it myself.

Tough call. For my purposes (mobile gaming) even a highly-decimated Gen2 figure would exceed my polygon budget. :blank: I might use the engines to do 2D with fancy particle systems, that should run on even a cheap Android phone.

Speaking of which, I need to get a phone JUST for Android development, I don't want to destroy mine! :bug: Or, I could get a better phone and sacrifice my current one.. heh.. :vampire:

Good morning! Sounds quite pleasant. :)

Add some zombies and traffic and you'd have a great game! Oooh, especially if we put the player in a car, get stuck in traffic and the zombies break into your car and kill you! :ahhh: GAME OVER

    Downloading now... :snake:

Thankfully, some tutorials are available for the engine. It looks like I can import meshes via FBX 2014. Yay, now I need to learn some new terminology.

Ok, back to work. Or should I say, waiting for my file. Coworkers are kinda slow.

I'd love to be able to use some critters like the Biguana and Digi-I's rex in a silly game, but I don't know if either are covered and since Digi-I's retired from all this... =/

Could always just try making my own "Biguana" someday though hey :)

Unreal's a pretty popular engine, so there's tutorials to be found all over :)
Digital Tutors has a ton, and Gnomon Workshop has (or had) some DvD's dedicated to it as well.

...need to wait until I get more "discretionary Income" than I currently have.

Maybe it's good MM is one of those "Snowball" type sales, spending less money that way for as I mentioned, I'm not much of a gamer (though fairies with high powered or Sci Fi weapons against tentacles could be fun).

I am on a transit bus and got to visit the restroom as soon as I get off the bus. I have been bad. I was drinking a tea lemonade mix on the bus and there is no eating, drinking or smoking on the bus.

I have seen in my runtime these fairies that are from posette or Victoria 1 era. Great for background fairies but totally outdated compared to Giselle.

...not even if it's a closed container? Our transit system allows it. If it didn't my old 2+ hour commute each way would have been that much more unbearable without my coffee.

Then again our transit commission also allows pretty much any dog or cat claimed to be a "service animal" (not just guide dogs with the special vest and handle anymore) to be brought on board without being in a carrier. Needless to say the "definition" of "service animal" is stretched pretty far based on what I've seen. I think I'll get a big boa, name him Reggie, and say he's my service animal. Betcha I get the entire seat all to myself. :cheese:

It is NOT a "Snowball" sale -- there are no punches, you aren't required to buy a new item in order to get a discount on an older item. Any item in the March Madness category for the day (today there are 958 items) gets 40% off, 50% off for 2 or more. The free item offer is the ONLY one that requires you to buy new items.

If you make the same complaint when DAZ 3D DOES give us a straightforward, no-strings-attached sale, it suggests that they might as well do a Snowball sale.

...I use the term "snowball" not based on the sale of the same name, but the gimmick of the more items you buy, the deeper the discount becomes (e.g.. those 1/2/3 30%/40%/50% sales).

a "straightforward" sale would be one with a single flat percentage discount across the board, no "buy one for X% off, two for Y% off".
