Cat Zeus

Cat Zeus

Looks good but just a bit toonish (?) in the promos. I'd be interested in seeing some renders. Tempted to buy it, but costing $25 right before Black Friday means I'll likely wait to see if the money would be better spent on sale items tomorrow.

I'm *very* curious if there will be add-ons for different breeds/coats/levels of realism/etc.

He's the perfect opponent of Catoon.

this is strange, he's very deteiled and exact and definitely made very well, but somehow I agree with the OP that he makes a toonish impression on me. I have a hard time putting my finger on why though. this will eb interesting to see in the hands of other artists

Because his face looks like a hooman's face.

I think it's because his head is too big.  Real-life cats (adults) have smaller heads. Would be interesting to know if this head can be dialed smaller.

The paws are definitely much more natural than these of the DAZ housecat.

I think it's the cheeks/area below the ears that are too wide, but that's easy to fix.

That was my thought as well.  I really like him and think he is adorable.  But he's a bit too toonish for what I need.  I love the amount of detail that went into him though.

  • anyone creating a cat has their work cut out for them blush

I think Veronika did a great job but I already have the Hivewire3D cat I like as well as her catoon and many other cats

will likely grab hers eventually but not so near Chrismas

This cat isn't perfect, but it's not as toony/off as the Hivewire cat and it looks better fur-wise than the old Daz housecat. It needs some morphing ;) The dforce hair makes it look very "floofy"...lol. It needs some combing...my cats hair lays down and doesn't stand straight outward from the body like the dforce hair on this. Head is definitely too large and head is wider than it is high, which is kinda backwards (should be closer to equal). Thighs are way too small. I think I can work with it though. :) The paws and eyes look really good though.

No morphing - just some quick scaling.

I did simulate it in the image I just posted...just as poofy. I think what's throwing me off is that it's too perfect. Needs some hairs going in slightly different directions ;) LOL

    Thank you for your purchase.

It was the portrait of this particular cat. He has a huge had and that's why he impressed me for making him. And I tried to catch his features as close as possible.

I have seen tom cats with really big heads, but not too often. That one you pictured tho...his head is a softball. LOL. The kitty is nice. I like him better than any cat I have so far (and I have all the supposed "realistic" ones). It was the eyes that got me. They look great.

I quite like him.  Feral tom cats have large handsome heads.  Will you be making more fur colors?  I see a grey one in your sig.

He has about the same head size relative to body length as my avatar cat Albert. Few cats have a stomach as wide....

I do like the way the ears fold back in the promo images, looks stroppy & agressive at the same time. My old Albert could swear like a trooper with just a flick of his ear.

I think it's a must buy, but can't get it until December - spent all my discretionary money this month.

    Regards,

    Richard

Yes, I am working on morphs/textures/fur for him. I hope it will come soon.

I like his hind legs way more that the Hivewire Cat. As for toony, no different than the realism in many of those DAZ Women. In fact, he looks like he fits in with them just fine.
  • I love this new cat!! Morphing the head a little and and combing will help with the fur, but he is by far the best 'Daz' cat that I've ever seen.

  • Nice cat, surprised that the pose collection doesn't include their most common position -- sleeping! laugh

Point me to a "hooman" woman with features like that and I'll bestow all my earthly possessions unto her and beg her to marry me!

Yes, I have a "type". wink

A beautiful kitteh! - and yes, a sleeping snuggling pose would be nice - even for a Tomcat with 'tude smiley

Am I missing something? Looks pretty good but why buy this if you own Daz House Cat...?

I will get him when I have the budget. Because the House Cat is somehow not as versatile as Zeus in terms of expression. And I love that he actually kinda looks like a human being (cats DO look like their human staff as time goes by)

I added him to my wishlist, mainly because he looks pretty good standing on his hind legs like a proper Meowian.

  • cherpenbeckcherpenbeck Posts: 1,413

If the morphs will allow me to dial a slightly smaller head, this cat will be added to my cart.

  • He looks lovely. My renders focus more on animals than humans, so I like when creatures can express emotion and character. I can't get him right now, but he'll be in my library soon enough. Thank you, Vyusur.
