Yes, those promo interactive license prices were gifts from the gods for those who wanted them. There were times when the ILs were less than $5! I think those came out to support the Unreal and Unity export bridges.

Seriously, the current IL pricing not only stops me buying interactive licenses, it in fact also keeps me from buying many items at all, that where only interesting in the context of that project. I bought many items with the idea, that I MIGHT use them in a fun game project I do with my boy. I literally spent hundereds of dollars for ILs for stuff we never used just in case... Now, I dont spend a dime anymore.

Bought 8 items at $3.49 and then used a $6 off Daz+ coupon. No way would I have purchased these when they were $4.99 at the sale start.  They also took a few dollars from me last night in the flash sale. I hope the break in prices is because no one was buying and we needed to get back to reality.

Prices are still way up compared to a year ago which forces me to continue cutting back. Prices here go up faster than gasoline.

Couldn't find even one item today, never mind 10.

However last night or perhaps all of yesterday there was some kind of catchup sale outside of the 10 for $2.99 deal. I picked up a load of V4 stuff for just $0.70 each and G2 stuff for $1.04 each.

Fantastic! I still use Carrara alongside DAZ and the V4/M4 works very well.

The sale is totally picking up for me finally. Got a ton of stuff for $2.99 yesterday and actually found 12 $2.99 items today, a few which were actually in my wishlist. This is how they get my money.

They got me. Was not planning on getting UltraScenery, but for this price... can't say no.

Please don't hate me, but to be fair, it's not Daz's obligation to lower their prices to the level we can afford them because we have no money due to one thing or another. I wouldn't go into a store and complain that the bread costs too much because I have no money to pay for it. I'd just leave it in the store - like I do here most of the time now. I just don't buy ;).

    Indeed it is not.

I have no obligation to buy anything.

... Because of that, Daz needs to do everything in their power to encourage us all to buy. The majority of their customers (im guessing) do not NEED the items, merely want them at a particular time.

I don't think nowadays there's not much I want. I bought it already... If Daz bombards me with cheap offers or takes the risk out of buying, then maybe I'll buy stuff on a whim. If they don't, then I probably won't.

"Buy any 2+ Newly MAD Releases to get up to 3 Interactive Licenses for just $20 EACH*"

This feels like a comedic bit. is this a comedic bit? Each week the interactice liscense price goes up by $5. Just feels so bizarre to have an "offer" be: 'buy 2 new releases, to get only 3 licenses, for 20 EACH.' So 60 dollaroos all up. That's just so mad it's funny, at least to me. Like a few months ago they were 5 each, without any kind of buy-in. Is this because new peeps from the NFT section are coming in?

Yeh, that just happened to me. Yesterday I bought a Mad Artist item that was in my wishlist (Tiki Bar)  and today it is in the grab bag sales.

There's a forum thread on ultrascenery that goes into detail on what worked for them that someone posted in another thread this morning, so this might help! UltraScenery Experiments and Experiences - Daz 3D Forums

I've had bad luck working with it in the past, but looking at the first post in this thread, I can already see some things I was doing wrong. So I'm going to try it again this week and maybe something in here will help you too!

That came out great! The fact that you rendered that on a card with 2GB VRAM is a testimony to the efficiency of the product's design, and a small miracle given the amount of detail in the scene and the size of the render. Also, the fact that it was reported to be 0% converged after 2 hours (despite looking like that) is a testimony to how utterly useless the convergence estimate is lol.

It fits on my card alright.

But IRAY preview makes the scene crash (Yes, I know it sais it would in the manual. Yes, I've set Optimisation to Memory).

I placed a camera and hit render, and all I got was close-up's of grass. I turned on "visible in viewport" for some of the instances to avoid this, but it made the viewport too sluggish to work with.

So with no real way to estimate how the scene will come out before the actual render, I don't see how I will be able to compose a scene.

I'm not complaining about the product, btw. I'm just saying it looks like it's too much for my system.

Nope. I paid $4.09 for it yesterday versus today's $3.99 price; so only 10 cents difference. But if it shows up in a catchup at $2.99 then it will be over a dollar difference.

Since they have effectively eliminated the 30-day lowest price guarantee, they can change the prices (with the discounts or fixed dollar values) whenever they want with virtual impunity. They have changed the scheme almost every day this week, and will probably continue until they optimize their price points. Not sure if a couple of weeks' sampling of buyer habits will indicate real trends or just impulses. The constant uncertaintly is just another nail in the coffin of customer goodwill.

This was my experience when I tried to use it once long time ago... never touched it again... yet I keep buying addons SMH... I should try once more now that I have a powerful GPU.

Today you can effectively get 6 items for $1.99 and 4 for $2.99.

Here's how I worked that out. Buy 10 for $2.99 each. (By the way more HD add ons today, good value). Use the free voucher, accepting that those items would be the kind of items to be included at $2.99 anyway, so thats 2 free (thanks DAZ). Now you've saved $6, so 4 of those items cost $1.99 not $2.99.

I'm happy in my pretend $1.99 world. That is all for now. :)

Those items were not on the list of available choices for the $25 coupon. Indeed some of the items HAD been or WOULD BE the next, but not on the day of that offering. Indeed if one were not a DAZ+ member, they were full priced @ about $24.95. So that would be 2 free items for some people and 2-4 free items for other people.

  • Grrr, today's one of the rare days I think about buying a new release. But today's also the 2nd or 3rd occasion where I do not own the key item. Of course I own Kiko and her other bundle and a total of 4 items from todays key item bundle. Whoever came up with that single key item thing and that new release for three days to get a extra of bonus mad and a ton of other soso-things: Well done, if I don't qualify for a purchase there won't be a purchase.

I think the point they are missing is that if you don't qualify, and if you don't qualify, you often don't buy becasue you think you're mising out on the deal.

I have not qualified for a single one of those deals. My library is probably small comprared to many (about 1,500 things I think) so maybe I should just buy more. And also buy stuff evern single day to qualify for all the extra bonusses. Then I will "save money"!

But other things annoyed me recently too, and stay with this, because it is relevant here. I am still furious with them for selling a bunch of Lindsay things on my wishlist at 65% off between the hours of 2AM and 6AM. I would have bought them had I been awake. That's a different problem of course, and I'm getting the feeling others are less worried by this than I am. Its relevance here is that those partisan sales now seem to be the only simple sales with few conditions attached. Offers at other times are either generally have strings attached or aren't very good.
