A very good catchup sale today. I guess the question is did anyone fail to find 10 items or more?

I'm frustrated because I'm finding the prices are still too high for my budget. When people like you are "happy" with the higher prices because you caught a bit of a break, it's going to move the line and shut out people like me. That's my problem and not yours, but I'm finding a great benefit by creating with what I already own and the money I am saving.

That's a good point, and it powers my wait and see attitude. Today's sale is good for this sale. But as already discussed, it's still expensive compared to previous years.

I can't be bothered to look at the stats and items, but based on raw percentages, flash sales are better.

OK, one example, the item in my wishlist I complained about being in in a flash sale.

    • March Madness offers me 40% off the Linday, of 50% with conditions attached.
    • There was a flash sale on the 18th March at 2 AM my time offering the same item for 65% off unconditionally to Daz+, 60% otherwise..

Why would I buy it today knowing that? Why would I ever buy for less than that discount knowing that? But I've come to realise that most people here don't know that, most people here are blissfully unaware that this goes on several times a week. My guess is that's probably why they continue to do it.

I work the other way around. Have currently >100 items in cart. Need to slim down to 20-30 max ;-)

    >100?! Oh my word, I'm getting a nose bleed for you, what did you end up with in the end? p.s. I went with 16 in the end, plus a few more $0.70 items.

@mwokee I'm sorry it's been a frustrating day for you, and you are right, if everyone doesn't buy at $2.99 then we might see $1.99 again. I believe it's the worlds largest asset database, so I guess it reverts to the mean buying wise.

I'm my case I'd been holding back from mid Jan to March 1st, and with the catchup I let myself off the leash a bit today.

I wish we knew how long the sale was for... today only (26th?)?  The weekend?

As someone with the screen name might say, the mystery is the point! laugh

  • Any favourites today? Just curious if anyone has any recommendations. I'm in a buying mood (and should probably stay away from the computer, lol)

That pretty much sums up the reason for our current Daz shopping hesitancy - buyer's remorse.

"Schadenfreude" is definitely not a LONG German word.

How about Rechtsschutzversicherungsgesellschaften, although not pertinent to Daz shopping. Or maybe that is what we need for Daz shopping (insurance company that provides legal protection).

i dont see anything different than what we've been giving. GC is 20% for $200? Who has $200. I looked at maybe a $50 GC. Grab Bag --10 is $30. I might buy 10 @ $1.99 and call it a day. Whatever I guess. It all boils down to what anyone can afford. I have spent $115 this month which is $55 over my limit. I'm done.

Well, I bought the Toon Gen 4 Mega Bundle for $3.99 ... maybe I'll never use it but maybe I will and for $3.99 it was worth the risk.

  • Thus far I've only been tempted by 2 Stonemason sets that have been in the grab bag. A bit over $8 spent this MM.

I found enough for the buy in for the grab bag. Regardless, Daz left a ton of money on the table. If the grab bag was $1.99, I would have spent faaaar more during this sale.

First time in over 5 years that I haven't made a single purchase during March Madness. It's a liberating experience!

I hear you and agree. If Daz would actually look at what some of his here in the forums are saying they would course correct ASAP.

The higher prices aren't helping them because a LOT of us aren't spending like we used to. During these sales, I used to spend a TON. Right now, I'm basically buying only things I'm CERTAIN I'll use.

I would have been all over that Cyberpunk bundle & Steampunk bundle from last week or so, but the price and lack of a great deal kept me away.

I used to back my cart up to the PC For a Day $1.99 sale. I grabbed almost everything I could even remotely use!

    Not a great sale.

Let's say it was still quite a number. Had a hard time drilling the list down but DAZ helped a bit...
    - I removed all items which went for $1.99 earlier although I had some in cart but I just don't see paying more for items which are now even some months older
    - 2.99 is not 1.99 so I skipped nearly all pose packs I had in cart but the Animus Incendo Poses as I bought the fitting candles earlier

Plus I had to leave some room to get RiverSoft's new TurboLoader. Guess I will use that thing daily.

P.S. Had the missile launcher in cart but removed it. Although well made it's just not the time to buy a bloody missile launcher, not even a virtual one.

I'm honing my focus down to specific items that I want or need. I want to buy those things sooner than later. If it comes down to it, I'll pay a little more for them. I've done that a few times already here and other places. But that's not an impulse buy.

Well I used up my gift card today on $2.99 items and purchased a new one. I didn’t need a single thing I purchased but could use all of it. They finally made money on me today. In general I did buy quite a bit of $2,99 items during the whole sale but only one cheap new item I didn’t want but needed as a buy in for the last catch up sale that I now didn’t need because there was no buy in today and the same items are on sale. I really don’t need new items. I don’t need anything but am a sucker for deep discounts. I actually spent quite a bit overall on these $2.99 items, more than expected. Now DS will run even slower than ever...

Take a look on Turbo Loader then. Not installed yet but my biggest hope in improving things.

...well that really bit. Usually a weekend catch-up sale lasted all weekend. I was out for the day and since I am an hour before Utah the grab bag items I had all reverted to normal price by the time I got home. This definitely is March madness in a bad way as what would have been a 12$ cart shot up to over 90$.

Not sure I've seen a sale more convoluted than this.

It would hurt my brain to even try to comprehend all that. I just closed the page.

Oh I hate this sale so so much:

+ No catchup sales on "Still new" items.

+ The catchup sales ended on Saturday. I thought it would end on Sunday ...

Now I have to empty my cart, wait another week hoping for a catchup sales.

The mindset I had during the big sales (PA, PC club, Holiday, March Madness) before was, when I see A NEW ITEM that I want, I wouldn't purchase it right away. I would wait for a gift card sales, a coupon, or a better deal the next day because there would always be a big catchup sales for these "still new" items.

Now, unless I can wait 2 months for an item, I would buy it instantly. There might not be better deal until 2 months later.

Okay, Daz can organize these sales in whatever way they want. But for the past 3 months I've been constantly disappointed with the final price I got. I missed a lot of new items and have to wait 2 months if I want a good deal. This was not the case for 2019 - 2021, when I had always felt I got a REALLY GOOD DEAL on NEW ITEMS.

If you're a new customer, great. Nothing much has changed. But for one who owns all the "Bonus Mad", "Key item" etc... so far, I feel like I've lost the will to buy new stuff at Daz.

I feel bad for ranting about a "sale". There's always another sale ...
