Perhaps if we all chant "catch-up, catch-up" together it might happen! I've got cash waiting ....
@Rod Wise Driggo Agreed, I like most of today's releases as well, but I don't have the key item (of course it had to be the only g8.1f core character I don't have) and no side deals are worthwile, so I'll pass.
Yet another pass on grab bag as well sadly. Eh, spent enough yesterday on the flash sales, decided to finally grab some AM animals I kept postponing.
I can't honestly see them addressing this issue however it's reported. On a very, very rare occasion when someone came down here to talk to us (someone called Travis who may or may not be director of eCommerce) I replied and mentioned it, and it continues regardless. They fixed it, they broke it again, and that doesn't bode well for anyone outside of US timezones that values equal treatment, that feels they should pay the same prices are Americans. I also raised a ticket with the charts showing that the sales are beyond doubt extremely unfair, and on it, I collected the sentiments gathered from the forum and linked to the thread. To be fair I haven't tried the "love to know" form. At that point, it was a hot topic, but now, I sense that on the whole, it's something people are resigned to.
I guess some people will not care, some people will care to the extent that they withdraw their custom, and most people will fall somewhere in between. I am obviously towards the top end of that spectrum!
The second half of March has been especially bad. In fact ,since I added that reply. Not that I'm paranoid or anything![laugh laugh](https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/teeth_smile.png)
Well, I'm pretty positive that a catch-up on Mad Grab is coming. So I might wait with those items until then. There will be for sure some strings attached (buy-in, etc.) but as long as at least $2,99 is possible for single items I think I'm better of that way. Guess I have already 10-20 on my list since the last catch-up.
A cheaper catch up seems the pattern, although did you have to buy a new release or something last time to get it cheaper?
1st catch-up was cheaper than the then-$3,99 without 10+ rule as it was everything for $2,99 without buy-in
2nd catch-up was $3,49 on everything (so cheaper for single items if I recall right) and needed a new release buy-in to get items to $2,99
Ah, OK. Well still cheaper, like you say.
I went Mad today.
The Zevo projection morph manager looks like something I could use often. I wish I had something like that just the other day to fix a leprechaun ear/hair issue. I found more than 10 of the buy 10 for 2.99 items but limited myself to 10. I also bought an older Zevo utility in the featured artist sale. I picked a couple other items in the 'nice to have but don't know when I will use' category that also triggered additional discounts.
So there you go. I went mad. Mad, I tell you.
And @LiveInBeauty, hard to believe no one else has commented on the navel issue. Yowzah!
Attaching screen grab of the Zevo ear fix. For those of us who like whimsical characters, ear hair can be a problem.
I wondered if it might be useful for the perennial "clothing and breasts don't mix" issue?
.
I am not sure. I speculate that would be better addressed if the morph projector can project morphs that are independent of the base figure. (eg., insert gap) But I am just speculating about that. On the other hand, SickleYield and others have created breast fix morphs that Zevo's utility presumably would have access to. So maybe it would address the breast-cling issue.
Zevo has a product thread in the commercial forum. More detail there.

Thanks for the link.
As an aside, this, for me, is probably the most serious flaw in Daz, although self-intersection of the mesh around the legs and armpits is a close second. I generally fix both with custom morphs, and I would dearly love to make my own products to magically fix them... but they don't sound like beginners projects, especially the latter!
Not beginners projects, but not impossible either. This thread is one starting point. It has a link to a tutorial by SickleYield on how to create projection morphs. The thread and the tutorial are getting old in tech years now, but it should help with understanding what is required. The use of DForce is also supposed to help address these kinds of issues, so the DForce-to-morph stuff should be on your radar as well.
See here and note link to SickleYield. SY has other useful tutorials as well. https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/157691/resources-for-understanding-creating-projection-morphs
Here is SY's breast fixer morph for Genesis 2 and Genesis 3 figures. https://www.daz3d.com/sy-universal-breast-helpers-genesis-genesis-2-and-genesis-3-female-s
And here is a similar product for Genesis 8. https://www.daz3d.com/sy-clothing-breast-helper-genesis-8-female
I believe there are other approaches. See Zevo's store as well. https://www.daz3d.com/zev0
Note the 'featured PA' discounts.
Thanks very, very much!
Haha, thanks for that. Now we know who to blame. :D Seriously, though, I do just wish they would make some kind of statement about it. As I've said earlier in this thread, I make a living from book cover art and also selling 3D stock, and it's causing me to rethink how I do everything. I have a huge library and will keep using what I have, but I won't be buying a lot of new stuff since it's very expensive, not discounted by very much, and also broken up into separate items (where they used to have a cool new outfit for sale, but now it's double the price and all items are sold separately).
I think they're paying some attention. It's the pattern. People were unhappy about $4.99 grab bag. Now it's $3.99, $2.99 if you buy 10. People wanted a gift card sale. There was one, but the percentage was sort of stingy. People were unhappy, and they had another GC sale where the max percentage was a lot higher. It's not like it once was, but it's improved over time.
They certainly changed March Madness. Whether that was feedback or nobody bought anything so they made it cheaper, I wouldn't like to say. For March Madness, I like the Airport sandwich shop theory, mentioned above. If 90% of users don't know what March Madness used to be, then they can make it more expensive and still attract people with big flashy banners.
@Diomede
We are all too busy trying to get the cart out of this maze-like shop![laugh laugh](https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/teeth_smile.png)
To me March Madness was, with the right combo, 50% intro price and 60% artist catalogue discount. Amazing.
Sorry, but I'm a black sheep, Grab Bag with extremely low prices sometimes devaluate too much the artist's work and the fidelity of customers. Balanced deals are very important.
Maybe we're no longer the target audience?
Well, I'm not, considering what my spending has been these last 15 months.
I typically don't buy much during the madness. I spent about $25.00 last year because I got a great price on the Cleopatra bundle (haven't bought a new DO bundle since then), the year before it was just $1.97. There are always to many buy in requirements where I have to have to get stuff I'm not really interested in to get a discount, or continually spend on stuff everyday which I can't justify or afford. This year I've spent $10.59,so far. I bought one item for an image I'm working on, one because I'm 90% sure it will get used, and one that was on my wishlist. Unfortunately I got sucked in by the promos, the item from my wishlist isn't quite as good as I thought it was. But in the background it might be OK.
It seems like in recent memory March Madness has almost always included some sort of hook buying scheme. Either "punches" on your virtual card for buying something to get a discount, or like this year buying a new item at least once every three days to get a discount. The "Key" items have been a big bust for me, I don't buy enough to have a Key item (AFAIK I haven't had a key item all month). Spend a lot to save a little just doesn't work for me. All the convoluted sales don't work for me either, it's more work than it''s worth to figure out what disount I might really get. and what the out the door price will be. Flash sales are nice, buy even though I'm in the US, I miss most of them because I don't check the store every couple of hours. But ... I am very happy that DAZ gave us the $25.00 voucher(s). That made MM a lot more fun!!
For me, getting something I'll probably never use, even if it's really nice, just doesn't make any sense. DAZ content isn't like buying stuff for other hobbies because it has absolutely no value if it's never used. I can't give it to anyone else, I can't sell it, it's just digital clutter on my hard drive. If I can't use it in an image that I or others enjoy, then for me it isn't worth purchasing. If I'll never use it, to me it's like throwing money in the trash. With other hobbies when I buy something it's resale value is not zero. If I should decide I don't want/need something, I can sell it, or give it to someone else who does want it..None of this is true with DAZ content. Additionally, most equipment purchased for other hobbies does not devalue as fast as computer hardware.
Over the years (almost 18 of them here) I've just learned to be careful with what I buy/spend. With increasing prices and the new seemingly bizarre sales strategies, I just can't seem to find anything I 'just have to get". IMHO it seems as if the great sale prices of the past may be gone. This is just my opinion, but it also seems like DAZ3D does not value loyal long time customers either. It seems as if they really only value customers who continually spend a lot,
Using DAZ3D products has been an important part of my life and the ability to create images that I and others enjoy has helped me through some difficult times. Unfortunately, they seem to be heading in a direction I may not be able to follow. It feels as if I'm slowly becoming an irrelevant customer, one that isn't worth retaining simply because I can''t buy a lot of stuff. I just don't feel my business is valued much (from many comments in this thread I seems to me that others have similar feelings). I still enjoy using DS, and will probably continue to for at least a while. But the big changes in my general perception of the direction of DAZ3D over the past year or two has me seriously looking for a different creative outlet.
March Madness to me is always connected to buy-ins, but I don't remember them being as massive as this year. The newly mad stuff is so expensive, except for the break-out items which are only sometimes offered; and I don't recall we usually had to buy so many of them, like three or even four sometimes. That is just insane, especially for discounts which are really not that great. I don't understand the logic behind it at all.
Also, the key items are almost always bundles this year - I've had ONE of those, I think, and that was because I got it real cheap years ago. Are there really that many customers out there who have such a huge bundle collection - and if they do, do they actually keep on buying stuff like mad? It's hard to imagine somehow.
I'm sad and tired, I wish MM would just end. Give us a nice catch-up for the grab bags tomorrow, and then let's all go home ...
Grab bag catch-up has arrived, along with a 20% off $200+ gift card sale. I still think someone is paying attention here and likely gauging what happens with the cash flow.
Woot. Mad Grab catch-up without buy-in. Gift Card-Sale without buy-in. Guess someone is getting all the Mad Grab wanted but skipped before.
...seeing what it does for fey/elf ears and hair as well as the fact it works with G2 and G3 has caught my interest..
I also wonder about the clothing/breast issue as I have a number of fairly petite female characters in that respect (one a "Twiggy type") and clothing fits are always a total pain.
A very good catchup sale today. I guess the question is did anyone fail to find 10 items or more?
...yep, Kvetchup time again. Actually found two gab bag items of interest, a Breast Utility for G3F by Soto that I didn't know of, and a Zombie Dog. Only 8 more to go....hmmm.
I work the other way around. Have currently >100 items in cart. Need to slim down to 20-30 max ;-)
Between the huge catch-up without buy-in and the 20% gift card, again without buy-in, I'm loving today![smiley smiley](https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/regular_smile.png)
I'm really glad I stuck to my guns and didn't pull the trigger on the previous gift card sales, which were good but not quite good enough (my personal limit is 20% after substracting the buy-in)... even though I was tempted.
The only thing that still low-key buggs me about all of this is the bizarre strategy of rewarding customers who wait above customers who spend early. If I had known about the catch-up today and saved all my grab bag purchases throughout the month for today it'd have saved me a not-insignificant amount.
But ok, I can live with it. I bought almost exclusively non-DAZ-originals so the extra money I spent hopefully goes to our talented PA's.
I spent all my budget on computer hardware, and I'm not quite done spending for that. There's always another sale.
I'm still looking for the new items to come back on sale, they usually did when there was a catchup. And as I missed https://www.daz3d.com/avija-wings-and-tail-for-genesis-8-and-81-females and https://www.daz3d.com/pw-ufo-starship-class, I'd hoped to see them resturn to sale. But nooo....
