so in the product library. I "bought" the 3d license for Victoria 8. It does not show anything in the product library, or the order..nor is it inidcated such on the product page. Very confusin

Here is how it appears in my Product Library. Notice the red circled portion. This label indicates the license type: Standard / 3dprint (possibly even interactive?)

Oh yeah -- I see it now for V8 ... most of the rest do not have it yet. How long do I wait before having to scramble to buy all the free 3d print licenses?

    I'm glad.

I spent last week, a couple hours through each day, adding licenses. 152 pages (4000+ products) but Richard Haseltine has stated that Daz is infact adding licenses to peoples accounts currently. So personally had I not already done so, I would monitor, but wait. Others have suggested adding in those products you really want manually, so there's that aswell. All in all just use your own judgement, but I wouldn't think you have anything to worry about.

Daz is in fact now adding the licenses for you, though it is a big job and may well take a couple of days or so to complete.

This particular quote was posted yesterday.

It looks as if they are correcting the items that had their purchase dates reset. For example, I got the Tara Bundle in the last bundle sale, but I already owned all the content, because I bought the mega bundle back in 2020. Earlier today, it only showed the standard license for Tara, but now it shows the 3dprinting license.

Any one else having similar fixes? Wondering if it's truly fixed or if I'll have to dig back through my purchases and turn in tickets, as I had planned to do. (It would be awesome if it wasn't necessary!!!)

No similar fix here. My items that were repurchased in a bundle after the deadline still show only Standard License.

Same here. I had purchased most of the items in the Deep Space Staff Picks Bundle prior to 12 July but then purchased the bundle on 26 July. Now licenses for all the previously purchased items  show up in my cart at $1.99 each.

  • Not sure if this has been asked..

If I have no plans to 3D print for sale, but may want to 3D print for my own personal use...  Do I need to worry about these licenses?

Basically no as long as there is no commercial use; and commercial use (requiring a license) includes giving them away in a commercial promotion of any kind. However, you might want to be sure to get the free ones just in case you might want to use the prints commercially at some future date.

At most I might print a 3D model and give it to a friend for use as an RPG minature. It sounds like I would not need to worry about any of this then.

There's virtually zero chance I would be trying to sell anything I printed.

The standard licence covers 3D printing for personal use, the new licence is only needed if one is 3D printing for commercial purposes

Can DAZ 3D add all my DAZ Interactive Licenses, via the old DAZ Orginals Game License, to my DAZ Originals content so that they are listed as being licensed instead of just implicitly being licensed?

  • edited August 2022

So far I have found about 20 or so DAZ Originals in my collection (some acquired years ago), and NONE are listed as free - they all say I must pay $1.99...

I'm confused as to what actually qualifies as "free" in DAZ's mind if I am required to pay a fee for the privilege.

They only show as free once you are logged in and put them in your cart. This has been mentioned several times.

Mine aren't showing up either ... let's hope they are getting it done before the deadline.

Mine neither.  But I'm pretty sure they'll push the deadline for those who haven't got them yet, in case it drags out that long, which I doubt - it's over 6 weeks to deadline and at first they expected it to take a couple of days so it probably won't be long.

Slowly adding some licenses manually, in moments of downtime, in case Daz doesn't produce a solution.

This bundle doesn't seem to have an option for a 3D-printing license (despite all components having the option):

There's a simple way to take these licneses without spending the whole day checking every single product one by one?

They're working on it. We're waiting, or not trusting them to get everything, and loading up as many as we can (tolerate clicking on in a session), now.

  • How are you guys filtering for DO items in your product library?
I don't see any way there to do it. I have no specific list of them in my records, of course.
And, my records are an utter mess!
Have I missed a technique discribed in this thread? If so, please direct me. Thanks!

So I ended up first doing a filter for bundles and getting licenses for them.  Then I looked my purchase page to find anything over $20, looked at the order items to see if I missed anything. It was mostly bundles that I'd covered already. I feel good saving hundreds even though I know I will never 3d print a single item.

I suspect it will cost Daz more in bandwidth with everyone scrambling to do what I did than just adding them to our accounts. What do I know though? I buy stuff I never use and double down by wasting time on it. It was fun going down memory lane though.

I followed the advice from @Farscaper on Page 5 of this thread to add the 3d printing licenses of bundles first. For those bundles that do not have the option to add 3d printing licenses for the entire bundle (like those PC+ bundles that no longer have their product pages) I added the individual items in those bundles. This should have already added a lot of 3d printing licenses. Next I tried to remember which PAs' items I bought the most, and I went to their artist pages and filtered the DO items, scrolled through the entire list of DO items. It's painstaking but at at least you can manually add a portion of 3d printing licenses, if you wish to do so

I began by using the store and the Daz Deals browser addon:

    Go to the shop

    https://www.daz3d.com/shop/

    Select the Artist Daz Originals

Use the Only Show Owned (Daz Deals)

I have given up and hope for the best, as I have tooooo many.

  • Been through my product library, and have been very surprised at how many of the products I have got no longer have any kind of store page from which one could get a printing license. Did cut the time down considerably. Also, it was a useful reminder of what I do actually have available. Regards, Richard.

Sort by price High to llow to increase the chance of bundles being near the top

Someone is willing to test it: Will you lose your 3D Printing License if you buy a bundle now, but you have purchased the items in it earlier?

    Example:

https://www.daz3d.com/shadow-man-bundle bundle is part of the freebie, but the items in it were previously given away in 2020.

I bought Cowboy Outfit for Genesis 3 Males long time ago and added its 3d printing license last week. I grabbed the free Gianni 7 starter bundle today, and the product page of Cowboy Outfit for Genesis 3 Males currently still shows that the 3d printing license checkbox grayed i.e., 3d printing license added already.

Unless they changed things recently when you buy a bundle it will update the order number and order date for all the included items. So the items in any bundle bought after the cut-off date (was it July 13 and later?) won't show as free when you add the 3dprinting license to the cart. For example, I bought the Into the West Mega bundle (which includes DAZ Horse 2) after the cut-off but I had also bought the DAZ Horse 2 Pro bundle years ago.  The store wouldn't let me add DAZ Horse 2 3dprinting license for free because it had overwritten the order info when I bought the Into the West Mega bundle.  Fortunately, the DAZ Horse 2 Pro  bundle still had the original order info because it wasn't part of the Into the West Megabundle (just the horse was). So when I bought the 3dprinting license for the DAZ Horse 2 Pro bundle for free it also gave me the 3dprinting license for DAZ Horse 2.

    Simple, right?

We had pointed out this issue to Daz

  • However, if you already have the free printing license it won't be taken away from you.
